I share my birthday (no, not the year OF COURSE!) with the U.S. president who served the shortest term in office of them all (just one month -- he fell ill and died).

There are 12 months in a year. So the odds of more than 1 person having a birthday in a month start to increase. It's easier to find 2 people having this month in common rather than 2 out of 365.
So now that the month is narrowed down, the odds increase to 1 in 30 (assuming a 30 days month), that someone will share your BD. So 1 in 30 has much better odds of a match than 1 in 365.
I tried this at a trade show a few years ago to prove a point to someone who shared my birthday (thanks for the correction MissyDarlin). I told this person that if we ask the next 30 people, we'll find another March 8 baby. Well, low and behold, the <first> person I asked...

I guess I'll be one of the first ones for Nov 7. It surprises me how many have signed up and not that many duplicates.
Wish I could be in London during the 8 Nov DO but have to work at my kids school that weekend. Have fun all.

Pour moi it's 26 October.
Voila.
Ah! I forgot to mention that Pres. Franois Mitterrand was born on that same day also!

Yes very serious. I actually celebrate it on Feb 28th on the off years and on the 29th when I actually have a birthday. Growing up my parents insisted that I was born in Feb and I was going to Celebrate it in Feb ....not March.
I really did not care as my friends celebrated it with me on March 1. The only time I was scared was when I turned 21 and I wanted to drink on the 28th.
