FT party

Anyone interested in an FT do/gathering/whatever to be held on an unknown date in a yet-to-be-determined location (exotic of course) with a soon-to-be-decided theme (will be dubious, naturally)?

Please post here if you're interested! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Is there an estimated cost per person? I want to know how much money I should bring with me when I attend...

Will I earn miles?

cblaisd Feb 28, 2004 8:03 am

If we have enough miles will the site be upgraded?

SMessier Feb 28, 2004 8:09 am

Will I be allowed to drone on for hours about a topic of no interest to anyone at dinner? (It could also be at brunch if that works better for everyone.)

I am saddened to hear that you cannot attend. It is heartening to hear that you're having such a wonderful time with your friends.

I considered the Swiss do for a moment, but was unsure if they have ATMs over there.

Next time, perhaps. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

How many bottles of champagne will be alloted per person at this function? I can drink at least two bottles on my own, if not more (mind you, I don't have a drinking problem...). And it better be the good stuff, too. None of that rotgut Veuve Clicquot for me!

Well, that's for us party-goers to decide. But yes, bubbly will certainly be present. (What kind of FT party would this be without alcohol?) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Fear not! You may of course bring an additional supply with you.

Well, if you don't like that stuff (who would?!?), just skip over it! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Who else is interested? All FTers are welcome!

Will there be belligerent, gossipy, self-important, booze-soaked drunks present? Ooh I hope so!

I'm in! Gosh - I hope it's far away so that I can take advantage of the 5x and the eqm and get some *wood points to earn platinum. Oh yes! But if I don't get upgraded all the way through (op-up ONLY of course) and don't get a confirmed suite then forget it - I don't want to see you that badly http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Comicwoman Feb 28, 2004 10:47 pm

I'm in too. Since I hate checking luggage, I think I will just wear the same clothes for the entire weekend.

I'm in. What's the best flight to book to maximize my chances of getting multiple VDB's on the way to the do? I probably won't see you there but I want to collect as many vouchers as possible. If I book on an oversold flight and don't get bumped can I ask for a refund?

Not sure yet. I will probably post that I am coming. And then I will book a ticket and make plans. But don't worry... I'll end up flaking out before all is said and done. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I'm glad to see so many of my fellow FTers are interested.

Rest assured, the location picked will have plenty of available ATMs. Besides, the hosts will gladly accept paypal. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/thumbsup.gif

DO NOT FORGET to ask for your RCC drinks chits in every single RCC at the airport, last time they only had the blue chits, and not the new red ones, go figger...

Frankly, this thread offends me.
As a serious traveller, I do not think that it is appropriate that anyone on this board have any fun, or attend any parties.
FlyerTalk should be about serious discussions regarding travel related issues, especially regarding miles and points, not about socializing.
Please close this thread so that it does not distract any other FlyerTalkers from more serious posts.
Thank you.

Excuse me.

Well, William, I suppose "others" are technically welcome. But there's no guarantee they won't wind up on cots in a broken-bottle suite at the Pukington Marriot.
