In honor of three-letter searching being added to the forums (fora?) today, I'll introduce myself:
Location: South side of Chicago (hence my opposition to a Chicago Olympics in 2016 - the construction will be murder on my commute
)
Age: Sigh - old enough that my younger son just graduated from college (loans almost paid off!
), not old enough to retire and spend my time on MRs
Occupation: Recovering lawyer, thwarted engineer/mathematician => labor arbitrator and mediator
Travel: Mostly to the hot spots of IA, WI, IL, OH, MO, and IN for business, with frequent side trips to DCA and LGA for business/family matters, and occasional flings in Mexico, YCC, LIH, BKK, England and points east -- a tough way to keep elite status! Love listening to CH9 on UA - reminds me of flying in small planes back in the day
Secret dream: To have an excuse to spend a year in France or Italy at someone else's expense...after taking a 6-month MR to Australia and New Zealand
I LOVE FT - I have learned so much that has made my travel easier and more fun! Thanks everyone.

Been hanging around long enough now...
My name is James. I lived my entire life in San Diego, up until August that is. I finally finished at UCSD (B.S. and M.S. in bioengineering) and moved on to more graduate school, this time at Notre Dame (Ph.D. in Biology). Unfortunately grad school has sucked up my resources and I can't fly as much as I would like to, especially since it is all on my dime. I have no idea what I want to do when I am finished, but I figure that will work itself out with time. The only caveat, I want to be able to travel or travel for work.

I originally joined Flyertalk back in 2002/3 under the alias Catch22 and have been riding an African desk since my posting days, which is to say I haven't done any flying for the past 3 years outside of South Africa. However I'd lurk the boards once in a while for some armchair travelling and to keep up on trends. Attempts this year to repost under the old username went ignored and emails to Admin were unanswered, so I've reincarnated under this username. I live and work between Nelspruit and Cape Town, South Africa and I travel often into Mozambique. If any flyertalkers desire Mozambique insider info, please feel free to pm me.

I found this forum a short while ago, but just found this thread now.
I have finally started to admit that I really am middle aged. I live in MN with my husband and one cat.
My interests are reading, learning new things, the water (the reason I still live in MN - or the reason I give to people who don't understand why anyone would choose to live in such a cold place) cooking and traveling.
The place I dream of getting my husband to is Tuscany.
The last place I traveled to outside of the country was to the French Polynesia in May 2007 with a friend. My next planned vacation is in February to Palm Island in the Grenadines. And after that, who knows? I can't wait to see it all!

New to the DC region - I grew up in PHL.
I'm (currently) 26 years old, and work in healthcare marketing - spending roughly 17 days a month on the road. My current job has me doing heavy travel for the first time in my life and while I've found it exciting....it sure is tiring too! Looking forward to hundreds of thousands of miles next year though - with my eye on that prize, the travel ain't so bad.
Other than that, I'm a huge PHL sports fan, a big foodie at heart (if i quit my job, i'd head to culinary school), addicted to the weather channel & discover HD theater, and used to tour around the country with Phish.
Been with Flyertalk since 10/06 (changed usernames) and rarely go an hour without checking in.

I'm kiwicounter, living in Tauranga, NZ (TRG)at the moment. I will be attending university in Christchurch (CHC) next year for 5 years, so will be doing a fair amount of domestic travel on NZ and QF and hopefully some DONE4's as well as a few trans-tasmans.
I'm aiming for an AA PLT challenge next year and getting at least silver on QF before then!
Last International Segment: BKK-AKL
Next International Segment: AKL-SYD
Last Domestic Segment: WLG-TRG
Next Domestic Segment: ROT-CHC
