Hey all,
I'm 23 and I work in logistics for a government contractor in Afghanistan. Before this I did two years in Iraq because college is really expensive.
I mainly fly Emirates(the A380 and dedicated Emirates terminal in Dubai drew me). Thai Airways is another of my favorites.
Started lurking this site when I started travelling looking for ways to get cheaper tickets and/or get miles faster. Now I'm almost Silver with Emirates. Still trying to learn all the damn cabin/fare letters.

Hi everyone,
I got so involved in this forum that I felt the need to introduce myself as well.
I'm 22 year old dude, originally from Eastern Europe but moved to UK over 2 years go. English isn't my first language, and I'm currently working hard on trying to get rid of my accent. Studied performing arts up north for 2 years, then left uni and moved down south of England to where I am now. I'm currently working as a Payments administrator in a betting company, and getting involved with more and more traveling.
I found this forum when I needed information on my very rushed trip across USA, which you can read about here. I'm also planning to move to the US in summer 2013, where I will be able to explore more of this wonderful country. Until then, I'll try to see as much of Europe as possible.
If you'll ever plan on going to Eastern Europe, baltic states, please feel free to PM me and I'll answer any questions you might have.

Hi all,
My name's Olivier and I'm a 30-something IT consultant based in Paris, working for a big american IT company. Used to travel a lot around Europe for the past 4 years, but now I mostly travel in France for business.
For leisure I take about 6 flights a year in Europe and 1 or 2 flights/year for the US or Asia.
Plans for the next 3 to 5 years: visit LatAm (never been), Thailand and Australia+New Zeland
I fly mostly Air France and stay either at Starwood or Accor properties

Hello All,
My name's Steve and I'm 30 years old. I'm an engineer at a small family business that sells medical lab supplies and lab equipment (for microbiology). My dad started the company 35 years ago or so, after working in a hospital lab himself. Most of my travel is for work. I designed our latest version of the lab equipment, and go out to do all the installations and train the people using the equipment (sold to universities, hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and private labs). Most of the trips are all 1 nighters leaving from SJC/SFO all over the US and Canada. Also go to about 6-8 microbiology conferences a year around the U.S. to show our products. Being a small company, I end up being our design, sales, service, support, etc department for the equipment, lol.
Outside of work I really enjoy cooking and am a huge fan of MMA and the UFC. Love to travel outside of work too, and my wife and I usually take an international trip and a few domestic trips each year. My wife and I just had a baby boy. Wife's a nurse and we met in college years ago.
I found flyertalk about halfway through last year, and have gotten so much from it. I'm now sitting on several hundred thousands miles in AA, UA, and DL as well as AMEX and Chase. I've got status on multiple airlines and will probably hit Plat on DL this year by using longer/creative routing on most flights. Without FT, I probably would be splitting my flights between multiple airlines and not getting status anywhere.
Thanks all!

Hello, I been checking this web for a few months and I liked what I saw and hence decided to join.
I live in TX with 2 kids and wife. I love to travel and wife hates it. Go figure. Was CO Plat. member for a long time, and now the UA's 1K. I am not sure I like anything about the new UA yet. I have had many problems mentioned in this site. Some were solved (missing miles from flights) and others are not (missing miles before March 3rd integration. I am just giving them more time.
Thanks, BMFF

32 year old Canadian living in the UK working for an american company. I'm a former ops consultant, who didn't fly but racked up the hotel points for priority club - but my new role has tons of long haul flights.
Long time lurker, first time poster. Figured with the 180/180 I just better get on it :-)

Been there - is the best suggestion to give on travel
I registered because a person was asking questions for travel in Italy.
Having lived, worked and raised a family there for many years I think I can be of help. Also being Italian helps.
Ciao. R.
