on a side note, I must apologize to the receiver of my secret santa gift, I did not realize how exactly secret santa worked as I had never participated in one before. I wasn't too secret!

Today my patience was rewarded with an .......AAdvantage One-Way Upgrade Certificate!! Obviously, my Secret Santa is quite aware of my favorite mode of travel http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/cool.gif

However, having no plans for an international journey in the next two months, I will be really looking for some great fares before February 29, 2004!!

jasons2e Dec 23, 2003 9:20 pm

My gift arrived, thanks Jan! I will be booking a trip with the travel cert soon and the airplane will find a new home on my desk http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Thank you to my secret santa for the very nice travel belt.
This is something I dont have and will certainly put to good use.

Thanks!

Well, nothing for me. Not even a lump of coal. As the post office is closed now I guess I'll have to wait until next week http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

I'm not sure whether my present is from Secret Santa, Papa Noel, or Los Reyes Magos, but in Spain, they clearly run a just-in-time operation. My present arrived today at 4pm.

Being traditional, I've decided to wait until Christmas morning to discover exactly what's inside. But already I'm excited.

Spanish customs decided to play along, carefully printing over the "description of contents" box on the customs declaration.

Many thanks, Santa, for making this a fun Christmas!

Catman Dec 24, 2003 1:33 pm

My Secret Santa came today in the form of a nice Fed Ex envelope... and an absolutely wonderful travel doc folder with the Cat in the Hat on it. Plus some travel maps for the San Francisco transit system.

I won't say who you are Secret Santa but many many thanks. My old travel folder was on its last legs being packed with many UA certificates and SPG certs and drink coupons and other stuff. I will travel with your gift with pride.

Hope to meet you sometime... and my Secret Santa recipient. If you are in the NYC are drop me a line.

Very thoughtful. Meowy Holidays to all and to all an upgrade in your future.

Thank you Secret Santa! Great information, including a carefully drawn diagram AND a gift card to Best Buy so I can get started on this project! Thank you so much!

And thanks to the organizers - this was a lot of fun.

izzik Dec 24, 2003 9:51 pm

I will join the select few Santas that did not receive a gift this year. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Happy Holidays everyone!

Not seeking thanks or anything, but I am hoping my recepient will acknowledge receipt of their gift since Fed Ex should have had it there on Tuesday. (I'm hoping he/she is off traveling and maybe missed the Fed Ex delivery....)

Since I sent my gift a day or two after discovering who my giftee would be (and I identified myself as well, and did research on my giftee's preferences by reading lots of postings) I'd value an acknowledgement as well.. just kinda wondering whether I got it right! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

JLM_USAIR Dec 25, 2003 7:31 pm

Gleff, I, in the spirit of xmas waited until today to open your gift. Thanks so much, it will definately make my stay in LAX a bit more comfortable!! Hope to meet up with you sometime, hope the holiday treated you well. And all the best to everybody!!

rkt10 Dec 25, 2003 10:01 pm

I deserve the worst participant of the year. Wingless sent me a beautiful vintage bottle of champagne which we enjoyed sipping before Christmas dinner today. Thank you so very much Cheri!

And in answer to Marysunshine, it's amazing what you disclose in your Flyertalk postings. I can only tell you that I was going to include some salsa & chips and also some ambien. I figured the chips wouldn't travel well, and, well, ambien's a prescription, I found out.

Merry Christmas all you Santas.

Santa has finally recovered....

For those of you who did not get your gift yet, be patient... I am hoping some Secret Santas were just a bit slow this year... especially for those of you who had "out of country" Secret Santas...

BTW... even Santa has not received his gift yet... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Feel free to send Santa an email if you have still not gotten your gift and he will send some emails to follow up for you!

I want everyone to be happy with this experience.

WELL... Santa just got his delivery from the USPS!!!

Thanks to my SONY California Secret Santa...

The Brookstone masager is nice... I will have to use it discretely so that Mr. Santa Hubby does not think he is replaced... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

The two gay-themed DVDs were perfect as well... one of my favorites and one I have not yet seen. YIPPEE!!!

Thanks again,

Santa

I waited until the 6th day of Chanukah to begin enjoying my gift. To my Santa: The chocolate is divine, and the coffee is out of this world. THANK YOU!!!

Daydream Dec 26, 2003 2:26 pm

Haven't received anything until last weekend, left notes for the mail-guys that they drop it off at one of the other appartments, so I will hopefully return in january to my secret santa present http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

ldsant Dec 27, 2003 8:47 pm

I opened my gift from my secret Santa last night (7th night of Channukah). Perfect gift for me - Barnes & Noble Gift Card.

Here is the funniest part of this entire thing. . .I thought all along that my Secret Santa was AJ (due to all of the Christmas e-cards from Scotland online). . .tonight, in chat, I learned that my secret santa was wharvey. I only learned it since I was telling him that I had my thank you card in the to be mailed pile for Monday. . .we are wondering how long it would have taken AJ to say "wth?" http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Wharvey - you did a GREAT job all the way around! Thank you!

Feorlen Dec 28, 2003 9:29 pm

We had lots of fun with this, thanks to the Santa team for doing all the work!

catwood Dec 29, 2003 9:19 am

I want to thank my secret santa, who is from the UK. I arrived back from Christmas in Maine to find a BA 747 and Concorde model. They are now featured prominently with my Herpa and Schabak airplane models in my bookcase in the living room.

(mom and dad got me a USAirways 767, 500 scale)

Hopefully my secret santa person in the UK get's his soon. It was definitely mailed.

Just wanted to say thanks to my Secret Santa - sorry I went out of town again on 12/23 and your package arrived 12/24!! So I wasn't able to pick it up until this evening.

Thanks for the Malaria Capers -- I was just about it buy it a few weeks ago, glad I didn't! And, the treeled, well, being a single guy, it'll be my Christmas tree for years to come!

techgirl Dec 29, 2003 7:47 pm

Still no word... I'm going to have my assistant track the Fed Ex tomorrow. I'm really worried it didn't arrive now.

wharvey Dec 30, 2003 11:08 am

Techgirl,

The person who you sent a gift to posted on this thread that they received their gift...

and I just talked to your Secret Santa via email. Turns out an emergency took him/her out of the country... but he/she has not forgotten you.

Where am I missing this? I Fed-Exed the gift on 12/19 for two day delivery so they would have had it on 12/20 at the very earliest (assuming Fed Ex ignored me and decided to ship it overnight Saturday delivery). I've read all the posts from 12/20 forward several times and I'm missing this unless that poster has two handles....

alanw Dec 30, 2003 2:19 pm

OK, I'm just going to go get myself a lump of coal.

OK... Santa is still a bit tired...

Techgirl, the person you sent your gift to has been out of the country on an emergency... so they have probably not seen your gift yet.

Alanw, that same person had not shipped your gift before they left the country... I have been assured they will be back this weekend and will get it to you.

My sincerest apologies!

Daydream Dec 31, 2003 4:35 am

I just emailed with my Secret Santa, and little Daydream was daydreaming while she wrote email to Wharvey... I mixed my old and new street, which resulted in an "undeliverable".
Please excuse me for a moment while I go outside and hit my head against something hard...

Izzik and Alanw,

I am going to send another message to your Secret Santas... I am so sorry the two of you have not received gifts...

One of the Secret Santas told me they mailed a while ago... and I know the other had not due to an emergency trip.

Again, my apologies.

William
