Lunch in EZE 12/23 - mini FT Do

Ozstamps and Joh are coming into town for lunch on their short stopover in EZE. I will be organizing a lunch at Cabańa Las Lilas. Exact time of the event is still to be determined, I will post all the final details once I have then, but we should be seated at around 1330.

If anybody wishes to join us, please post here and email me to the address in my profile. Lunch per person should run approx AR$ 100 (US$ 35) - depending on how refined we get with the election of the grape juice from Mendoza or Salta.

Would love to join you, but unfortunately for me.....I won't be in EZE until March 04.

Perhaps then!

Best wishes, Dave

Thanks for the kind offer to show us the BEST eating place in BUENOS AIRES there Gaucho.

For those that may not have caught it - the lunch evolved from this nearby thread, which has the best dissertation I have ever seen on how to eat and cut a steak. Worth reading for that alone:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum95/HTML/004039.html

I saw a couple of other FT'ers post elsewhere they were in town during this period. One was GUWonder - but his listed email address "bounces" back.

Well - we are looking forward to this, and thanks again to Gaucho for playing the superb host as always.

We will be back in EZE from January 6 and 7 if anyone is about then.

I booked this 4* hotel right in the middle of the Av. Florida/Santa Fe Shopping area for $45 a night! King bedded Suite, Jacuzzi, breakfast, Champagne and flowers even. AND they even okayed a 7pm checkout as our flight is 10pm on 7th.

I used [email protected]

Hotel Sheltown

Special Offer: HONEY MOON

Special room rate: USD 45.00 + VAT (MINIMUM 2 NIGHTS)

Honey moon special offer in SUITE with living room, balcony or terrace, jacuzzi, bathroom with hair dryer and telephone. (up to 3 persons)

Including breakfast buffet, champagne and flowers.

Hi all, my sister, her friend and I will all be in BA for New Year's Eve celebrations. Staying at the Park Sheraton 12/28-1/1/04 when we're off to Cordoba and Mendoza for some wine drinking and gaucho activities. Glad to meet up with anyone (including you Michelle!!) Look for us on the afternoon of the 28th.

Glenn, where are you flying to on the night of the 27th? My sister's friend is leaving that evening also for JFK.

So how many showed up? I am always jealous when I hear of someone going to my favorite vacation destination, Buenos Aires!

Well, first time I have been near a computer for several days.

Sitting here at 13,000´ in La Paz Bolivia, wrestling with a Spanish keyboard (that will not allow me to bold) and sipping Coca tea ... wonder why I feel giddy .... the extreme altitude or the Coca?!

Great meeting up with Gaucho again, and thanks for making the time to come meet us in the madcap pre-Xmas season. We really were beat after over 24 hours on planes and airports etc. On the flight to Sao Paulo were were both zonked.

Hope to see a few folks on January 6 or 7 if anyone is about.

akhullar ... the email address I used to book that Hotel is above. Sounds like a great deal. Gaucho phoned them for us and arranged a hotel driver to come meet us for 40 pesos ... or about 15 dollars. A good deal as EZE is a lonnnnnng way out.

Yes, but the giddiness can't compare when one types away whilst drinking a VB (or six). Surfing while plastered.....
