FTer Daydream just invited me to spend the Xmas holiday with her family. How cool is that? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Daydream Dec 1, 2003 8:29 pm

Wait until you met them and you know why I do everything I can to get extra troops to go in there....

I am counting the days already, well, mostly until Finals are over, but its all the same. We should go sunday night non-traditionally someplace that has cocktail happy hour. Someone already has any definate plans for the weekend? At least SXJ and me will be monday around too, so we could do something then.

Rates update for Marriott Munich Hotel:

If someone stays from 12/19 until 12/22 for three nights, he/she might be better off to use Promotional Code H30. Rate for the first two nights is € 109,-- per night (breakfast for two & tax included), third night is for free.

I will join you Friday evening... I am off to ATL for Saturday and Sunday, coming back on Monday morning.

So I should be able to do something on the 22nd / 23rd too, girlfriend permitting http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I just got a room at the Renaissance for $ 51+fees for two friends who will also be in town for the weekend...probably I will change our room at the Hilton with the one at the Renaissance to be closer to you http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

More excellence! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif What was the promo code on the 51€ rate?

BTW, I just checked weather.com for the 10-day forecast: snow showers! Yea!!! We hardly ever get snow here and when we do it melts on contact.

Daydream Dec 15, 2003 10:46 am

Ok, sunday evening (aka the day where I return in the afternoon home and will join you guys jetlagged) we could go to either

Fliegerbraeu - close to Munichs old airport (good public transport accesable), known for their own homebrewn beer, cozy atmosphere and excellent bbq duck (fushion bavarian food).

Forschungsbrauerei - somewhat close to public transport, but for Don, SXJ and me in the opposite part of town, they brew experiemental beers, like christmas beer or easter beer or whatever else you can do with beer, also serve food. According to my mom (the beer drinker in our family) it can be lots of fun

As noone else made any suggestions, these are mine for the evening.

Monday - depending on how the weather is and if I can get one of the family cars, we could do a little cartrip, I need to make some phonecalls and see what is going on in Bad Toelz, which is a lovely little town in the pre-alps, maybe even Salzburg, or Rosenheim (I think SXJ has never been there, lovely typical bavarian city). Hm, Idea forming in my head. Anyway, roadtrip is possiblitly.

All of that sounds good, esp. Forschungsbrauerei for a Christmas beer and a roadtrip somewhere. I'm pretty much game for anything.

Three more days ... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Steffi (and anyone else that may be interested) - We'll be walking around Munich Sunday, so when you get in call me on my cellphone 0170-560-6975 and we'll work out where and when to meet.

Forschungsbrauerei sounds like a great idea.
