Secret Santa anyone?
Hey Gang,
I know Flyertalk has - in the past - had a Secret Santa organized.
Nothing has been posted yet....
Would people be interested? Do any of the previous organizers want to do it again?
If not, I would be glad to coordinate if there is interest in doing it.
How do people feel? Want to do it?
William

Instead of giving each other gifts why don't we as Flyertalkers donate gifts to a charity? I know many Flyertalkers are involved in charities, it would be a great gesture if we, as a community helped others instead of sending each other something...

I already did part 2.
But I'm always interested in part 1.
I remember my first Secret Santa participation. I was new on Flyertalk back then; and I thought I'd get in on the fun.
I received a paper HK49 (that's a UA confirmable domestic upgrade). I was beeming.

Here's the details:
If you participate in Secret Santa (open to everyone worldwide), you agree to send a Flyertalker a gift valued at no higher than US$25. And if you're sending, this means you can receive!
The administrator of the list will coordinate who sends what to who.
Ok, so lets say you get XXX. How do you know what to send this person? In an ideal world, you'd do a 'search' on the various forums looking for threads written by your giftee. Sometimes there are clues, sometimes not.
I fly United. My Secret Santa sent me a UA upgrade. Or maybe you like chocolate, and your Secret Santa (who mail hail from Europe)
will send you a box of the 'good stuff'.
Of course you can blatantly make a general request...
One caveat... your Secret Santa has a right to remain secret. Also, sometimes the mail is slow (especially from off-shore).
