Alan, this thread has cheered me up ! Sean and I are en-route home from Thailand, the prospect of sun in October cannot be refused. However, I think we will be flying EZY to get there...

1. No way to ML getting his pants back!
2. No to Missy in pumps and pearls. I think she is best au naturel (pardon my Freedom!).
3. Paris is only 1 1/2 hours away by plane. I might even put on my pumps and pearls and hitchhike down - now that could be interesting!

Well, I do need an excuse to launch my European Museum Tour, so if I can swing it after my Japan Adventure in September, I will give it serious consideration.

Put me down as a maybe and let me know when you get hotel prices. I was planning on going to Oktoberfest in Munich the weekend before and then tooling around in Germany the following week. A weekend on the beach may be the perfect ending to my European vacation.

Ok so how do I go about finding a cheap seat to BCN? Am I trying to book too far out? LH/OS/AC from YYZ all come in at $4000 - $5000 bucks! I want to rent the seat, not buy it. Is the trick buying a ticket to FRA or LHR and then hopping a separate plane to BCN? (I am looking at Oct out, back on the 5th).

Dunno Randy, you may be trying to book too early. It looks like all European flights for that time of year are very high. Though going from YYZ seems to make it worse. Expedia has a bargain fare of about $500 from NYC, and BA and IB are around $800.
It appears that AC also has a ~$500 V fare, but it's only running this month. IB and AF also have ~$500 fares but they expire quickly as well.
I'd say keep your eye on Expedia's fare list and snap one up when the bargains come back.
