No way I'm ready to race in 3 weeks! :o

Singapore could be interesting...

I'm also liking that Medoc Marathon suggestion from a prior post. Running + Food + Wine = ^ Mix in a few days in the French countryside - that does not suck.

In Medoc, they give you something like seven hours to finish it. So clearly a lot of the emphasis is on sampling local products along the way. :D It's not like you have to be something silly like a "marathon runner" to enter that one.

Friends of mine participated a few years ago at this event and told it is more an event than a marathon.

It on September 10th this year And you are right, it is a nice countryside.

Anyone here running Grandma's?

Anyone planning a fall race somewhere interesting? Trying to come up with something more creative than NYC or Chicago... Maybe the Bizz Johnson Trail Marathon...

White Rock - Dec 11

About an hour ago, a couple of us guys that run together figured out that the Chiefs are playing at Dallas on the afternoon of the White Rock Marathon. That's like a sign from God that we need to get down there, run Dallas, and then go tailgate and catch a Chiefs game.

So there's my late-fall marathon, which I'd probably run with no goal time in mind... Still would consider an early October one...

Here's my likely race calendar for the next few months:

May 21st - Olathe Marathon (I'm running the 15k)
June 6th - Hospital Hill 1/2 Marathon (KC)
June 18th - Grandma's Marathon (Duluth)
Sept 24th - Kansas City Marathon (I'm running the half)
Oct 2nd - Army Ten Miler (plus a Nats-Phils game and Terps football game)
Oct 9th - Chicago Marathon (still tentative on this one...just seems like I have a built-in taper for it)
Mid-November - Gobbler Grind 1/2 Marathon
Dec 11th - White Rock, Dallas, followed by the Chiefs-Cowboys game

If any FTers are doing any of these, PM me...

I want to fly to France and do the Medoc Marathon. After all my EUG runs, I will only have 250,000 miles in my BD account, is that enough to get there from YYZ? ;)

Medoc '06 is on my list. I barely missed the cutoff for '05...

Chicago Roll Call!!

I'm in.

40,000 entries...I figure odds are, I'm not the only FT'er in. Who else will be joining me on the streets of Chicago on October 9?

2006 Roll Call: Big Sur, Grandma's?

I'm a tentative for Big Sur and a definite for Grandma's. Who wants a piece?!? :D

Still very much undetermined on a Fall '06 race. I want to do Loch Ness but my wife thinks I'm totally not serious.

Bump!!

Anyone else with me in Duluth in six weeks?

As for fall, I'm waiting to see if I won the NY Lottery. (Results announced mid-June...about the same time I'm at Grandma's!) If I get bonged, I'm not sure what I'll do...

Time for another bump!!

It's a definite YES for New York City on Nov 5 for me. Anyone with me?

pinniped Nov 28, 2006 5:08 pm

'07 will be slow year for me, running-wise. We have a little one due in March.

We will, however, make the annual pilgrimage to Grandma's in Duluth. June 16th is the date. I will be running the half. It will be fun to kick back and enjoy the full mary as a spectator this time.
