Minnesota gathering?
I'm in the Twin Cities for a few weeks. Any Minnesotans interested in a gathering?

Funny you mention this-- I was just thinking of suggesting it.
I will be there generally Oct. 1 to 13, but the weekends are booked-- so during Tues. Oct. 7 through Friday Oct. 10 would be best.
There are a few other MSP FT folks who expressed interest a while back-- here's the thread:

Sounds good. How about 7:30 p.m. at The Local on Nicollet Mall for drinks? The food's not the best, so if we're doing dinner we can find someplace nearby.

hi rocky and all. As many know, my parents live there and I fly msp frequently, and am due for a solo trip back...but 10/2 is just too soon.
That said, I'm due for at least 2 trips back to MSP before year-end, so maybe there are some opportunities for some mini-events...? I'll kick out a thread or maybe bump this one if I can with some more advance notice.
Hope all are well..

Happy hour before drinks at the Local... when/where will we ever eat??
4 may be a tad on the early side for mom and me.
cecliia and greg, never fear- this doesn't have to be the last MSP gathering.
greg, when are you in MSP again??

If you all are looking for a good, cheap place to eat after drinks, I recommend the Quang at 2719 Nicollet Ave S. Phone 612-870-4739. It's nothing like McCormicks but very tasty, inexpensive Asian/Vietnamese food. Lots of good restaurants south of downtown on "Eat Street" (Nicollet). Most of my favorites aren't big enough for a gathering of more than 6 or so.

I will be in MSP this weekend (Oct 3-5) for the marathon. If anyone is gathering one of those nights, I'd be interested in meeting up. (Beer is carbs, right?) I suspect the town will be hopping with the Twins in town.

Well, I guess I can crawl out of my office and make drinks at the Local.
have to love the whole 2 block walk. If we do this on Thurs. the Twins should be playing so any place should be hopping. If you want traditional pub fare, i personally like Brits, just a couple blocks away from the local. (they have good beer too, but got rid of the London Pride, so I am a little bummed).
