Oops, I posted the wrong date before. Rather than create confusion, thought I would start a correct thread here.
original post
A few people have suggested drinks or something in YYZ on the rollcall forum. I noticed that Latitudes is in town that night as well.
Should we do drinks that night - Babylon or Byzantium? I am having dinner with an old friend so can't make it too early, unless of course he would be willing to come along.
Say 9:30 ish in the gaybourhood? If enough people express interest, I will put it in the community forum as well.
Only other options for me would be 20Sep or 13Sep.

Sept 27 work for me too, though the earlier the better. I won't be able to stay out too late for a couple of reasons.
One is that my hostess will be waiting up for me and the other is that I will more than likely be jet-lagged after having flown almost non-stop from SIN that day.
Since I prefer older men, perhaps MapleLeaf can talk his old friend into coming along.
Looking forward to meeting you all.

Latitudes.
For my part, I travel not to go anywhere, but to go. I travel for travels sake. The great affair is to move; to feel the needs and hitches of our life more nearly; to come down off this feather-bed of civilisation, and find the globe granite underfoot and strewn with cutting flints.

I think I can make it, although I'm a little fearful of how the evening will go, given what happened the LAST time I went to Babylon with Mapleleaf! ;-)

It was your idea to pick-up Indian cuisine... no-one elses.

I have no qualms over my choice of cuisine for the evening. It was the amount of alcohol I injested, and the fact that I can barely remember what happened after I left you guys, that kind of scares me. Those Babylon martini's are deadly!

Count in FlyerAl... I just emailed him to tell him he is buying a round of drinks, or 2, for everyone in attendance. He is currently on vacation from FT so he can't comment otherwise

I will probably just be able to do drinks that night, maybe you'll all be liquored up when I arrive.

I'd like to join up as well. The 27th shouldn't be a problem - hopefully I'll be in town.
So, has it been decided yet? Byz or Babylon, drinks and/or dinner?

Are you sure it's just the martini or is there something else? One thing for sure, by the sound of it, any get-together initiated by MapleLeaf should be coded RED as 'potentially scary or dangerous'.

Well I am in for drinks only. If other folks want to meet for dinner, no problem I will meet up with them later.
As for drinks - last time was Babylon, never been to Byzantium, so I vote we try for that - something new and all. Barring that, we could go to chez Craigstar for drinks

Argh! I just (finally) looked at the calendar, and September 27th is the second night of Rosh Hashana. As much as I would LOVE to blow off a big family dinner for drinks at Byz, my mother would split me in two. I can probably meet up with you guys after 11 though.

Toronto_1970, 11 or later should be fine. If it is anything like the last time, we will still be there. Oh yeah, bring your credit card, I am still trying to pay off the debt from the last time

I just walked by Byz tonight, and it's all boarded up. Spraypainted on the boards is "Closed for renovations. Reopening early October".
So we need a plan B.
