I'll be in Madrid this coming weekend if anyone would like to get together for drinks / dinner - perhaps on Saturday evening? Its my first time in the city, so I'm afraid that I don't have any clever suggestions. Likely staying at the Westin Palace.

It's a great party city. You'll enjoy it, I'm sure
Although it is a chain, La Vaca Argentina, Canos Del Peral 2, does great meat at reasonable prices. Galopin, Caballero de Gracia 22, is more formal but does great Catalan food. For something a bit different you could try the Moroccan restaurant, Cocina del Desierto, C/Barbieri 1, near the Metro station at Gran Via y Chueca.
There are loads of breakfast and coffee bars around the Sol area to help your hangover, too. Have a great time.
