Upgrades while using FF miles?
Does anyone know? Is it possible (i.e. within the realm of fiscal sanety) to get an upgrade on a ticket acquired via frequent flyer miles? I am making my fifth trip to Europe in the fall. The 11 hour trips from the left coast USA are getting very old in economy. I am not rich but if there is any way I would love to get into the larger, more comfortable seats. I am flying Northwest/KLM from Sacramento, CA to Amsterdam via Seattle. Thanks in advance.

Anyhow, you should look at the thread you started in travelbuzz that has been moved to the Northwest forum where you will get the most accurate replies. However, 99% sure the answer will be NO.It is definitely not possible on AA and UA.
