Outdoor dining, Hackney's on Harms
Seeing as it is getting very nice and warm here in Chicago, it is time for dining outdoors.
One nice place to do so is Hackney's on Harms in Glenview.
Draft beer, great burgers (both beef and buffalo) and a truly awesome onion loaf.
I'm thinking of Wed night June 4th and if the weather is not good that night we would have the dinner on Thursday the 5th.
Anyone interested?

I love Hackney's on Harms! But alas, besides not living in Chicago, I'll actually be in Orlando on bizness on both those dates. Drat.

Sweet Willie - Great Idea!! I am supposed to land at ORD at approximately 7:45PM that nite, so assuming all goes well, I could be at Hackney's by a bit past 8:30 or so....I'd be glad to just give you a cell call when I land.
Presuming that everything else is still working out ok on the family health front, 6/4 or even 6/5 should be fine.
Talk to you soon, and Best wishes, Dave

But Sweet Willie, you know your burgers. I used to work 'around the corner' from there. On those perfect outdoor dining days, you would find more company employees at Hackney's than you would in the company cafeteria.
Right now both of those days are open, but stuff changes. Mark me as a maybe+.

Hackneys on Harms was a childhood staple, and I only make it up there about twice a year now. But I'm going to be in Albany on the 4th. On the 5th, my flight gets in around 6:45, so I'd be able to get there by 7:45 or 8.

Mmmmm, I'm jealous. I used to live near Dearlove & Central in good old Glenview, still got a buddy working at the Glenview House (he got out of the Navy with me & stayed working there...for the past 22 years...weird). Would love to catch up with y'all & stuff down one of those dee-licious burgs & some onion rings, but don't get into ORD until 8:30 on the 6th...in town to visit the family out in Glen Ellyn. Have fun!

I grew up in Glenview so we had Hackney Burgers and Onion Loaf's at their Harms and Lake street locations often.
So far I am not going anywhere that entire week so either the 4th or 5th will work for me.

seems like the 5th will work better for most people? Let's plan on the 5th then.

5th should work fine for me....barring any family related issues.....
As usual, earlier is better, but I can always arrive early, have a few beers and put our name on the waiting list if I have an idea of the approximate time and number....
Assuming the weather is good, this place (as you all know!) can have waits of well over an hour.....I also think that they may still be a bit "short-staffed" until perhaps a few weeks later in the summer....
Best wishes, Dave

As I only live a short distance from there, it looks like I can go. Will be able to get there about 7:45 PM as I will be coming straight from work. Folks, if you are coming from west of 94, don't forget the Lake has some serious construction going on. Glenview Road or Golf might be better to take. See everyone there.
