The "Help Support TORONTO" Do - May 17th @ 7pm

We're having a "DO" to help support Toronto. Toronto was hit hard recently with a travel advisory by the WHO (World Health Organization). With SARS all but a mere memory now, we're having this event to help support the city.

Here are the details:

Place: Toronto
Date: Saturday May 17, 2003
Time: 7:00pm
Location: The Keg Mansion @ 515 Jarvis St (at Wellesley)

We have started a thread in the Air Canada forum so you can choose to reply either here or in that thread.

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum5/HTML/009300.html

Though there are not any other events planned for the rest of the weekend, there are many things do to within the city and I am sure if there are people coming in from out of town, we can arrange some events.

I haven't looked at all the details but did stumble across AA fares as low as $218 from the West coast USA, cheaper from elsewhere. There are deals out there and you need not worry re: SARS. Car rentals can be had for as low as $9.99CAD, being about $7US.

I am trying to get time off of work for next weekend.....If I can, I'll be there.

Looks like a great turnout from the link. I hope I can swing it. Darn cheap seats are sold out and UA not leting me use miles, but I'll keep trying.

The really cheap package tickets are sold out, but you could try
here for the regular seats.

Knowing human nature a little I suspect that some of those real cheapie tickets will be in the hands of "sellers" around the theater before the show.

Seats are not ALL sold out but are certainly scarce. While I found nothing from YYJ, YVR had a 9am, AC202 via YYC to AC120 arriving at 5:55pm on the 17th. Return on AC169 to YVR at 8:45am with a possible onward connection to Nanaimo available on 8261. Some of this from Destina, some from Ac website. I played "video poker" for my tkt with the ac website, hitting refresh until I snagged an N class seat!!

An agent may do better too as they can check all the permutations!

PS - also could do AC6260 from YYJ (ZIP - Barf!) to YYC at 6:30am and connect to AC120 to YYZ (763) arriving at 5:55pm.

I might come in for this. Means flying AC metal in economy since the UA fares are high from LAX. Will check fares/my schedule a bit better & post if I can make it. Cheers.

What about this?

Your requested flight

All prices are in U.S. dollars and include taxes/fees/airport charges. All times local to each city.

1 adult Total: USD 282.75

Flight: United Airlines flight 816 on a Boeing 747 Jet
Depart: Los Angeles, CA (LAX)- Fri, May 16 1:40pm
Arrive: Chicago-Ohare, IL (ORD) - Fri, May 16 7:32pm

Flight: United Airlines flight 1022 on a Boeing 737-500 Jet
Depart: Chicago-Ohare, IL (ORD)- Fri, May 16 8:45pm
Arrive: Toronto, Canada (YYZ) - Fri, May 16 11:17pm

Flight: United Airlines flight 8441 operated by Air Canada on a Airbus Jet
Depart: Toronto, Canada (YYZ)- Sun, May 18 12:00noon
Arrive: Denver, CO (DEN) - Sun, May 18 1:38pm

Flight: United Airlines flight 1457 on a Boeing 767 Jet
Depart: Denver, CO (DEN)- Sun, May 18 2:30pm
Arrive: Los Angeles, CA (LAX) - Sun, May 18 3:48pm

I know the YYZ-DEN is AC but I am sure if you were creative you could get all UA - outbound is a 747!! AA non-stops are about $25 less.

How did you get $282 something? I'm finding sev hundred more. But this looks possibly doable. Hopefully the DEN-LAX flight is on time, as there's a Manhattan Beach DO on Sunday at 6pm & I'm the one that started it!

I booked a DFW-YYZ roundtrip on American Airlines for $253 USD including taxes.
NO advanced purchase required.
I booked it Sunday for this weekend.
Their Toronto sale runs through the 26 or 27 I think. I also picked up a Hilton hotel for $79 CAD a night!
At these prices I wish I could visit every weekend!

Just a search on travelocity.com using the fare display - choosing the cheap UA fare and picking dates. If you go to itn.net and find the right class of service on other flights you can punch these in under multi-city and it should price for you. I would think united.com should also have this and you'd get the booking bonus too. Let me know if you would like help or just provide preferred dates and times and I can check for ya!

That explains why I can't find it. I've never (ok, everyone sit down before you fall down!) used Travelocity before. united.com was showing about $200 more.

But - alas, I've decided to take a pass. I have to write a check for several thousand dollars to the IRS (accountant made a big boo-boo) & am nervous about spending any $$ until I get that behind me.

But - I may use the time that I'm now spending in LA to figure out the travelocity thing. I'm assuming you still get points if you book through them instead of UA?

Altaflyer, thanks for giving me the heads up & the offer of assistance. Everyone, have a fabulous time. Cheers.
