Breakfast/Lunch in Chicago

Along the same veins as the Breakfast in Seattle thread...

I'll be in Chicago this Tuesday and Wednesday morning (Apr 22-23). It'll be my first time there so if there are any willing Flyertalkers that would like to show me around or have breakfast/lunch on Wednesday I would be quite appreciative. I'm arriving on Tuesday on Amtrak's The International from Toronto at around dinner time and departing early afternoon Wednesday on the Empire Builder to Seattle. I'm staying at The Tremont (based on comments about this hotel, seems that Priceline wasn't too good to me).

Cheers!

Ah, finally someone coming in on a WEEKDAY!!

I can do an early breakfast on Wednesday if you are interested (need to be at work by 10 a.m. for a meeting).

I live two blocks from the Tremont so you are in a great area of the city, with many choices. Perhaps some other FTers would be interested in meeting too.

Let me know.

We could also do a dinner on Tuesday night if that's what some others want to do.. I'm sure we could get some members together for a bite. I'm open - but it's your call!!

Either is fine with me. However keep in mind I'm coming in on Amtrak - if there's a delay it could be quite lengthy and I'd miss the dinner!

I can do something on Tuesday night. Only if it involves beer.

Tuesday night works for me.
I can meet up with everyone around 7:30, I have an afternoon meeting away from the office so I don't know yet if I will be driving in or taking Metra.

I'll check on Cedric's train status tomorrow.

OK folks, sounds good. How about you leave a message with the hotel as to where/when Tuesday evening as I won't have access to the internet after later tonite. I'll email iluv2fly with my full name so that he can get a message through.

See you tomorrow!

Edit: I've also emailed ORDGuy with my info in case iluv2fly isn't able to make it - he never mentinoned if he could do the evening thing or not.

I beg your pardon!!! Of course I can make it!! I'm the one who suggested it!!! I can be there more on the later side, as ORDguy suggested. Any suggestions? I like Ben Pao, a true FT favorite.

Marty...anywhere around the North Michigan Avenue area is fine with me.
I just got Cedric's email. If I can take Metra we might be able to meet up at Union Station. If I have to drive I'll head straight from the burbs to either The Fremont or wherever we decide to get together.

It looks like Cedric's train departed the first U.S. stop at Port Huron, MI on-time so
the arrival in Chicago should be around 6pm.

Any idea where/when we want to get together?

What's the word on this?
I might be able to make dinner tonight. Sorry I'm late, just found this thread.

Mike (ORDguy) and I have met up at the train station and are now in the area of the Tremont. Mike's cell number is xxxxxxxx. Best bet is to call him so we can determine a good location to meet up.

Edited to remove Mike's cell number since we're done.
