SEA, March 8

I'll be passing through on my way back from Vienna. I'm hoping I won't be too tired to meet some Flyertalkers for dinner or drinks.

I'm supposed to arrive around 4pm and I'll be staying at the Doubletree airport until the next morning.

Anyone going to be around and like to have dinner or drinks?

Thanks!

Unfortunately I'll be in Barcelona, making final arrangements for my move there. SEA has a great FT crew and I'm sure they will take great care of you!

I should be free later in the evening (after 8pm) if you're still awake

Didn't realize there was a "limit" on visiting the Emerald City?

Step - you are ALWAYS welcomed here and as much as I want to meet you, I will be out of town that weekend (returning March 9th). Perhaps NEXT time, which I hope will be soon.

Well, this was supposed to be a joke (I am smiley-averse so I didn't include one). But then to top it all off I realized I vapor locked and confused stef with techgirl (hey, I was tired when I posted) so I totally loused up my attempt at humor.

I'll just scuttle back into my corner now. The rest of you please pretend I never delurked!

Jon

Don't go delurking... I'll be back in April (and I'm NOT planning to use my free night certificate at the Doubletree Motel either) and would LOVE to have dinner again.

missy, of course i will stay awake for you!

jwright, i see you figured it out but i haven't been to seattle since October or so. I just got back from Palm Springs and passed through SEA on the way down but I doubt you saw me! <--See I can Smile!

alanw and ldsant, sorry I won't get to meet you. I'm sure I'll make it back.

mtacchi Sorry, I will still be in Vienna on March 7.

So, apirchik and missy may be able to make it. Where should we go? I will trust missy for that. apirchik, will you have a car and can you make an airport area? Otherwise, I'm sure I can take a cab or something.

Stef-

You can take the 174 Bus for $2 or the Airport shuttle for $8 into downtown and I'll drive you back to the hotel.

What kind of food are you up for? That will help narrow down the selection of fabulous eating venues.

After getting ready to hop aboard the bandwagon I decided to check my schedule. It turns out I've got opera tickets that night. I'd potentially be up for catching up with you folks later in the evening (if anyone is still awake) or we could always do FT night at the arts.

Please, someone get photos. I'm dying to see Jon in formalwear.

If you're looking for a place to get together, let me offer a recommendation (and I would add that my track record is pretty good in this regard, if short): Casuelita's, at Western & Vine. Caribbean food, wonderful people, great atmosphere, and easily one of the five best meals I've had in Seattle. If I were going to be in town next week, I'd insist.

That is all.

Alas, I will be in the South that weekend (Lousiville and Birmingham on vacation), but the rest of Team Seattle will pick up the slack, I am sure! :-)
