SIN weekend 12/7 or 8

Keep my poor husband company. Einar will be at the Novotel from LATE 12/6 until very early 12/9. Get together for drinks, etc. Got the Novotel from Priceline! Willie Wonka will also be in town, staying???

Hullo again, Karen & Einar,

I'm leaving SFO the 7th, arriving SIN late the 8th, and returning SIN-HKG-SFO early morning the 9th. I've booked the transit hotel, but have no idea what I'm doing, since this is my first SIN run. How is Einar getting to/from the airport at SFO?

Hi Karen and Einar,

I will be around in SIN that weekend and will be meeting another FTer on Sunday,so your husband is welcome to join us. Novotel is a little out of the way, so I hope you didn't overbid it.

Karen, you aren't coming along as well? Willie, r u heading into town?

And btw, unless you plan to get wet, bring along umbrellas. Getting some thunderstorms lately. Drop me an email and I'll try to arrange something.

Where are you meeting? Dadgolf wants to come along and will be using Priceline also - most likely end up at Novotel. Got it for $55 which was not much of a deal but could not get anything else. I can't go - don't need the points. This is Einar's party!

Willie - I don't see how you can meet up with anyone with your schedule! Whew. We have been to SIN but stayed at the Conrad. Know nothing about the transit hotel. Einar leaves Dec 5, arrives the 6th at midnight, thru Tokyo, departs 7 AM the 9th. Will be taking his car since it is a short run, parking at Anza, I think for $8/day. For a long trip, we tried recently getting a rental car both ways and it worked out well. Limos from Morgan Hill are VERY pricy.

Thanks for the heads up on the rain. We were out yesterday, on Saturday, and it really rained!! I am glad to have brought my umbrella. Today seems like it will be dry. I am currently in SIN with two other travelers from the SF Bay Area and we will be leaving for home also on Monday 9 December, via NRT. We also are a ways away from the Novotel Hotel. We have cleared the upgrade for the SIN/NRT segment, but are STILL waitlisted for NRT/SFO. We will go early to the airport to check in and then we will visit the SQ Raffles Lounge in Terminal 2.

Hi Karen,

I just got back. I met Max in the SATS lounge this morning in SIN. He's still on his way home. On the way out, UA offered me a bump and $400 + hotel, etc. to go through Honolulu, but I would get to SIN after my flight back. At NRT, business(I hadn't upgraded unfortunately) was so oversold that they were offering bumps and vouchers for voluntaries there, too. Anyhow, good luck to Einar. They always offer me stuff when I just can't take it, for one reason or another.

I forgot to ask Einar about the lounge. He is home now but his plane was late and, since he was taking the train in the rain, he was not sold on the plane, train, rain program! UA tried to tell me he was on time and I could not figure out why he was so late arriving at our appointed place. He is holding up pretty well and is attending a town meeting this PM! Then, back to SIN again Wed!

Looks like you scored on the bump. Did you volunteer or was it IDB?

Flying out to SFO this Sat, and just yesterday, it looks like it was way oversold. Today, however, they are selling H fares. Guess the system kicked in to remove all non-ticketed reservations.

Actually, I didn't score on the bump. If I had taken it, I would have arrived in SIN 5 hours after my flight home had departed. They were soliciting voluntaries when I checked in. Don't know if they resorted to involuntaries later.

Good luck.
