<font face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size="2"> Posted by Gaucho100K: Unfortunately it looks like I will have to change my status from 'confirmed' to 'almost cancelled'. Im being asked to take a new assignment in NY on the first day of February and it will be almost impossible for me to take days off in the first couple of weeks. I will keep you all posted.

Bernie: I sent you an e-mail a few days ago but I'll go head and post this here.
I'm sorry I can't make it to this event; I was looking forward to meeting the FTers who are going to be there. I have a work conflict on Monday that I just can't get out of, and that's the day that promises to be the most fun.
I'm holding one of the group rate reservations at the Nikko if anyone would like to have it before I cancel (107 per night including breakfast). Bernie, I also requested a ticket to the parade, so please let me know if someone can use it. If not, I'll send you a check (in euros!) for the amount.
Hope everyone has a great time.

I just returned from vavation in Mexico - had been to hotels and resorts without phone / tv etc., so I just need to go thru the mails I received within the last 2 weeks and dig into the rest of all the stuff.
I'll keep y'all updated as soon as I got thru with it and I'll work it out till the weekend.

As I emailed to Bernie right now, I have 3 pieces of bad news but 2 pieces of good:
BAD:
1) I HAVE to be at a meeting in DC on February 11-12.
2) I cannot keep my reservation on the DUS Express outbound or return (just like the PiP Express, I'm afraid).
3) I cannot attend the parade Sunday or the festival Monday.
GOOD:
1) I am not Geo1004. I do not let a little 'work conflict' get in my way of a good party.
2) I arrive DUS on FR FEB 8 at 12:10 and depart on SU FEB 10 at 15:20, thus continuing my tradition of either arriving late or leaving early from all FT get-togethers...BUT being there for the Saturday night dinner.
Let the chant begin: ALT! ALT! ALT!

What flight do you arrive on Feb 8? It looks like you arrive 10 mins after I do on UA952 ORD-DUS. Want to share a cab into town?

Well, normally I wouldn't either. And as much as you love me, I'm sure you would not want me sleeping on your couch after I lost my job and was out on the streets...

gaucho ... did read your travel plans for the holidays here on FT (EZE, SIN) ... so I didn't see any chance to meet. (I'd have loved an insider to show me around Ciudad de Mexico though)
