I will miss our many emails and chats.
Rest In Peace. |
Today is such a sad day, in so many ways.
When did I last see Nathan Detroit? Last year in Vancouver? I'll miss him. |
Adding condolences - he always was so kind in his posts; he will be missed.
|
I think Nathan just spoke to us again.
Nathan Detroit writes in the earliest days of FlyerTalk, on October 26, 1999: Nathan doesn't need clubs anymore, they being free in the Elysian Fields where F travel on Angelic Airlines (AGL) is also free. Cheers from heaven's grand casino next to the track where Nathan works as a junior angel; next step, full angel (Gold), then archangel (Plat) |
I'd like to pass on my condolences as well. I only knew of the man and would've liked to have met him, considering we were in the same neck of the woods both being in Chicago. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

It is unfortunate that I did not get to Chicago for the FT do when I could have visited Nathan.
He was a quiet unassuming soul (at least during our encounters). I hope his suffering was brief. Every death is a reminder to live each day well and to enjoy life! |
I never had the chance to meet Nathan Detroit, but as is such with this community, I can't help but feel the loss, and send my condolences to those affected.
|
I have had the pleasure to have communicated with him in e-mails and in person. He's a wonderful person who'll be missed.

How very sad to learn of this! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
My heartfelt condolences. May he forever rest in peace. -Mark |
Everyone who read one of Nathans posts will remember how thoughtful he was. I can only wish his family peace. My family and my prayers are with them

Sad to hear about the loss of a fellow FT'er. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif May he rest in peace.
|
I too wish to extend my condolences to Nathan's family.
We only got ot meet once a cloudy but wonderful day in Seattle two years ago. He has a great story to tell. I believe he has won his wings, and with our beloved Raeban and John A will watch over us for many years to come. You will be missed Nathan Detroit, but not forgotten. |
I look forward to attending the next production of Guys & Dolls I come across. I'll always remember our "Nathan Detroit"...
|
To say I've been out of touch for the past few months is an understatement...I just found out the sad news from essxjay. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
The times spent with this fine gentleman in SEA & YVR, along with the many e-mails over the past few years will always remain a warm memory. Rest in peace nathan detroit. |
Sleep in peace, and know that you will be remembered long and well by your family and your friends.
You leave behind for us warm and loving memories of you. I just went through and read as many of Nate's old posts as I could find. His dignity and incisive wit will be long remembered. Brian |
