Hunki. Here on the Chesapeake Bay we call it "burying the rails"...

Unfortunately, my parents realized a few yaers ago that I was getting more use out of their boat than they were. They of course offered to sell it to me at which point I suggested a lovely room for them at a local retirement home.... end of story. There is no more boat (Irwin 34 Citation) and my parents are doing quite well without the supplementary oxygen. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

As for the SeaDoo 4, chexmixy has reminded me of lovely airfares. However, I must still remain un-confirmed at this point.

Priceline details:

Zone: Downtown
Stars: 4*
Price: $40/night (I bid $39/night and was rejected)

Beckles, thank you so much for finding this Priceline deal! Today I reserved August 14, 15 and 16 at the Elliott Grand Hyatt (downtown) for that same $40 rate. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

The special pre-paid Expedia rate with the low-price guarantee averages $171 per night for those same three nights. The Hyatt site shows $235 per night.

geo1004, this boat is a Hunter 33.5 named "Serenity" which has such high freeboard that if "we bury the rails", then we have the spreaders in the water, too! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif
My first boat that I owned when I first met Punki was a Swedish-built lapstrake hull Scandinavian Folkboat http://www.zyworld.com/folkboats/video.htm with such low freeboard that I was able to drag my hand in the water when sitting on the leeward side. I would frequently "bury the rails", the deck and the cockpit combing boards on that boat.
Of course, now that I don't race any longer, I prefer the "more comfortable" aspects of sailing when I have guests on board. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif However, if the crew wants "to slug it out", I'm usually more than willing. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Joh we can either tie Oz to the mast or the bow pulpit where he can say his prayers. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

ldsant, which day do you want? Friday evening during the game, Saturday afternoon, Sunday afternoon?

You're not staying for Saturday??

Went and ahead and did a Priceline booking, also at the Elliott Grand Hyatt, for Fri-Sat-Sun nights at $40 a night.

Me too for Fri-Sat. Too good a deal to pass up or waste a free weekend at the Westin on. The Grand Hyatt is shaping up to be party central!!

missydarlin the photo looks like Sunday afternoon when we went sailing for "Punki's Mother's Day". The weather was so nice, it felt like August.
When Punki and I were driving home today on the "viaduct", we noticed how close Kells is to the Bell Harbor Marina, it's practically straight up the hill. For all of the out-of-towners, there's an elevator that takes you half way up. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif or down. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

das May 14, 2002 11:50 am

Since I live here, I have no excuse for not attending this event.

Please add me to confirmed list.

chexfan May 15, 2002 3:09 pm

missydarlin informed me last night that she has been narrowing down the possibilities for dinner on Saturday the 17th. I'm sure she'll fill in w/ details once she starts to figure everything out.

IMHO, all of the possibilities pretty much ensure a fun time will be had by all! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

The thread for the SeaDoo4 Brewery Tour

usoftie May 17, 2002 10:59 pm

Mark down usoftie + fweep (recently registered, longtime lurker http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif ), two Seattle-area residents as confirmed as well.

missydarlin May 22, 2002 9:50 pm

We have a Venue for Saturday night!!

Desert Fire in the Pacific Place Mall (right next door to Gordon Biersh..where we all were last year) has agreed to let us reserve their entire outdoor balcony for our Do http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

It can hold up to 50 people, and it will be solely ours for the evening. The balcony is right outside the bar, and drinks will be done on a cash basis.

We will be having a heavy appetizer buffet,(Southwestern Cuisine) and taking into account their minimum purchase, we'll be able to do this for $26 per person (tax and tip included) as long as we have at least 25 people there. Given the size of last years crowd, this shouldnt an issue.

I'll have an exact time (likely 7:30), and menu posted when I get the contract signed.

techgirl May 22, 2002 10:18 pm
