Support groups for coping with elite status reduction

Last year I lived in Halifax(YHZ) and commutted weekly to DFW racking up some good miles.

I made it all on my own for AA PLAT, CO Gold, AC Elite, Marriott Plat and Hilton Diamond.

This year I moved to MCO, not as far to travel and I work from home every odd week.

Doing the math it looks like I'll be lucky to make AA plat and maybe Marriot Plat again.

I feel so empty that I will be losing all of the other elite status. Is there a support group to help me deal with my impending loss of status ;-)

Well, you could take a look at the FT Mileage Run board to get some ideas before you join that 12 step program.

You have a point, stmongo. I was AS Gold, Marriott Plat., Hilton gold (all earned), and moved to DFW and less travel. I will get Hilton Gold again this year, and may get AA Silver or whatever they call it.

I'm definately going through travel withdrawl.

I swung from USAirways Chairman's Preferred, American Platinum, Marriott Platinum, and Hertz President's Circle down to nothing.. till I got letters extending my status a year from all of them.

But the I still stopped flying and now am driving, now I got Marriott Platinum, Starwood Platinum AND probably Hilton Platinum but no airline status.

Swing left, swing right, who knows where you'll end up...
