It's becoming pretty clear that the best way to settle this whole mess would be to create a separate FlyerTalk Hook-Ups forum. No, the GLBT Forum doesn't suffice.

Wow, I just noticed that four of the last five posters to this thread are Matts (five of the last six including this post, and if eMailman is also a Matt, six in a row). Thie significance of this phenomenon is left as an exercise to the reader.

Either that or people called Matt have way too much spare time http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Sorry, I am not now, nor have I ever been a Matt.

Whoops, been rumbled! But saying that, the people who worked this little pattern out must have a little spare time themselves http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Yeah, ScottC and you nailed me there.

I closed the threads and moved them and believe it or not - not because anyone complained about them. The reason was more to do with the copycat knockoffs and that they were leading to personal insults and I would sincerely doubt that anyone here would challenge that assessment. It was only a matter of time before another one was started titled "FlyerTalkers Would I Want to Kiss My ...." There is always a part of FlyerTalk that is still about the quality of the content up here - I'm not sure that those threads - and you must consider them all as a whole, not just one - would have been the thing that you would like FlyerTalk to be most known for or remembered by. I think some of you get caught up in the topic and the first post or two - I get caught up in the posts at the end of any thread - is it still on topic, has it caused any misdirection for members and is the spirit of the post title still understood by each member.

We move threads around based on where members take them. Those threads were driven to OMNI by the quality and intent of those posting at the end and those mimicking the orginal. It's not that big a deal, we didn't close them - hell you can still continue to post to them as you wish, so certainly no harm was done there.

I really only have one pet peeve on FlyerTalk - the ignorance of some members to assume that I singlehandedly can read each and every post on a million post-plus bulletin board. Sorry guys and gals, I have a real job as well. That is always why some posts get closed and others don't - either it was luck or not that i stumbled upon them or another member pointed me in their direction. The kissing ones caught my attention solely because they started to multiply so rapidly (other topics related - not the number of posts to each one).

As you can see, there is really no clear majority on whether they belonged here in community or not - which means I am the tie-breaker. Moved but not meant to be big brother.

Now for a message from our sponsor - The TalkBoard has recently voted overwhelmingly to add a new forum to the Travel boards titled - Travel with Children. We'll get that added as soon as possible. End of Story.
