Pachinko rerouted to ROC?

Hey All,

Actually that should be "rerooted," as I and my wife have moved back to rainy upstate NY (albeit on r/t tix putting us back in Japan in June).

The Japanese rat race has won out on this "salaryman," and I am enjoying a pseudo-retirement otherwise known as unemployment. Actually, that isn't quite true either, as I am self-employed, and continue to provide services to my former employer in Japan. Although I would love to grow this company to take care of other parties' US-Japan needs (anyone with such needs drop me a line), I am currently enjoying spending time with my wife! (A nice change from the 07:00 - 22:00 average workday of the last 2 years!!) At any rate, Rochester is not exactly a hotbed of US-Japan activity, so we may again be uprooted (not the West Coast, pleeze!) if we do in fact want to make this a "real" company.

We will be in NY in a couple weeks for a trade show, and I learned to my dismay that AA Eagle no longer flies ROC-NY. We are thus taking our virgin flight on Jet Blue. (From there I do an open jaw on AA with no Sat stay = ouch!)

June brings company meetings in Tokyo and an extended family wedding in Nagasaki. With another possible company trip in Oct, our June/July return may again be a r/t ticket. We will then be in Japan for New Year's, which means I need to find a Run somewhere to keep us Kids Platinum..... Any thoughts?

Hoping to see more of you now that we are "closer," I remain

On AA when I can,
Mark

kid,

Maybe it's time to re-schedule last years meeting. Let me know when you'll be in NYC.
Are you coming in for the National Stationery Show?

Say hello to wharvey while you're in ROC.

Jet Blue is a nice flight to NYC... a nice change... customer service with a smile.

Hope to see you sometime in ROC.

Hey, guys!

I checked my yahoo address just now for the first time in 6 weeks, and saw a note from landspeed and a few of your responses. I apologize for my inactivity - and sorry I have not yet met up with dhammer53 - yes, it was the NY Stationery Show or wharvey. (Or anyone!)

We Kids are flying out to Phoenix tomorrow via ORD on an AA upgrade, and then headed to Tokyo out of San Jose Sunday. The return leg of our "move," as it were. With all the hoopla about the World Cup, we are stuck there (could be worse) until 7/3. (A new ticket w/ return in end of Sept if we use it.)

Finally picked an apartment for a 7/10 move, and will hopefully settle down around then!

Hi KP-
Thanks for the post (and the note)- had a great, albeit short, trip to Tokyo.

Hope things are settled in ROC, and have a great trip back as a "tourist"!

Hey, you're almost in the neighborhood. Now if we could just get that darn bridge built across the lake...

Mark,

Good to hear from you again; glad to know that you and "Mrs. Kid" will finally have a chance to get settled in ROC. Good luck in your new place!

Meanwhile, I hope your travels are safe and enjoyable and that they will one day bring you to the Emerald City!

Best wishes to you both,

Bill

Thanks again, All!

We are back in Tokyo, after a great wedding (wife's sister) in Nagasaki. Flew JAL for the first time in two years, and they can apparently give AA miles now. (Time will tell.) It would be great to hook up, Mike, but our schedule looks kind of booked up until our departure for ROC next week....

Had quite an eventful flight over, which I will try and post on the AA board in a couple of days. (Anyone else ever shown up for a flight on the wrong day?)

Hey Kid,

Okairinasai. No sweat on the schedule, the door is always open so whenever you are back and fancy a meal or drink, just drop a note. I will be going through New York at least once in the next 6-9 months and when I am out there we shall have to drag you two down for a meal in the city with the locals there.

My best to your Mrs. and I hope you enjoy your trip.

Talk to you soon,

Mike
