Put me down for one ticket. If anybody is coming into PIT for the game, let me know. If possible I can pick you up from the airport.

Bill, I just changed my email address.

Take care!

I'm still planning on attending. The Rangers should be able to supply some competition by then. Guess I should start getting serious and plan a little segment run.

BillMorrow,

Put me down as a definite maybe! I may be able to carpool to the game from DC with a longtime Pirates fan friend who has plans to be there that night (he has his own ticket already).

Besides, it'd be a great opportunity to boo John Rocker!

You can put me down for a ticket. I'll figure out how to get there one way or another hopefully.

Just did some checking, and the Renaissance is a Category 3 property, which means I can even use my free stay certs I'll be earning through Marriott's very generous Take 2 promotion ... if they send them to me on time ...

Beckles, I heard someone mention on the Marriott board that they saw it electronically credited to their account.. I don't know if that means they don't still send the certs afterwards, wasn't clear.

In any case, if you don't get them, Priceline gets 3* or better hotels downtown for around $30-$40. Unless you get into Station Square, downtown is all within easy walking distance of PNC Park. Station Square usually has a water taxi for a buck or so.

Beckles,

We are go!!!!

I was at a point where I had to make a financial commitment to the Bucs. After a lot of thought, I wasn't sure if we could use 30 seats. As a result, I simply bought 20 seats outright. These seats are in the same location as previously mentioned. The only difference is that we are not 'ofishuly' a group and will not get our name on the score board.

I'll post more over the weekend and update this thread and the website. I'm just finishing a long, hard stretch of workdays and should be able to catch everything up.

Advertised in today's Post-Gazette:

"Plan a family basketball weekend at the Hilton Pittsburgh, just a homerun away from PNC Park.. with our special $99 per night rate.. for June 21-22 .. includes room, complimentary downtown self-parking and two Pirate Baseball Souvenir caps. Simply visit hilton.com or call 1-800-HILTONS or the Hilton Pittsburgh at 412-391-4600. Ask for plan code PC."

Not the best deal and it's for the night BEFORE the game planned for this event, but out there if you want it.

Ok, I'm a maybe for this event. A listing was posted at work stating they are expecting the Hard Rock Cafe in PIT to be open on June 24. If the date doesn't change there's a good chance I'll be there

Thanks, just got it myself, but for only $40 since there is $5 in bonus money available right now, but only until tomorrow night (4/24/02) for anyone else who wants to take advantage of this deal (my price was $52.25 total, including fees and taxes).

Here's the link for the Bonus Money: http://www.amazing-bargains.com/j/priceline-8050.html

I am reasonably (99%) sure that the ONLY four star in Pittsburgh (in Priceline) is the Westin William Penn. So if you want this hotel for $40 you can almost definitely get it if you use Priceline. Just for those considering it. And at $45.95 ($40 for the htoel, $5.95 for Priceline) it's a steal.

What the heck are you talking about my Big Mac eating friend?

Westin William Penn = Omni William Penn

You're right about the $40/night, but you need to use the bonus money to get that price.

I believe that it's the only 4* that has been seen over at BFT come up on Priceline, so just bid 4* in downtown at $40 + $5 bonus of $45 with no bonus and you should get it.
