Dan,
I've sent an e-mail to pre-register with [email protected]. Do you know if this will include us in all assocated events (cocktails, dinner, awards)?? This will be our first attendance, so we are a little perplexed as to protocol to follow.. Any other info on side events would be appreciated by all (sorry that we can't make the Brooklyn tour; meeting on Fri in NJ)!! Thanks!

I will NOT be attending the Freddies as I don't get into Newark until Friday evening, but if anyone is sticking around, I might be up for a get together somewhere Saturday. (I WON'T have the time to do dhammer53's Brooklyn tour, but if there is anything on for before or after, I would like to know.)

At this point, I should be around and hope to make it. What's this about 'pre-registering'....? Also, I know last year Starwood hosted an event on the evening prior--has anyone heard if they will be repeating that?

I pre-registered thru [email protected], and Janet forwarded me to the official invite website at www.freddieawards.com/invitation Also corresponded with William at SPG, who informed me that SPG will NOT be hosting a pre-awards party. Anyone making pre- , post- plans????

Mauld,
Don't forget to look for us this year.
Last year, flyertalkers were invited to the FREDDIES after lunch, although some of us managed to snag a desert.
I guess we're all still waiting for the official announcement.

OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: I think this might be posted in another thread but thought i'd answer the question. Thursday night, April 25th. Holiday Inn Martinique near the Empire State Building. Cocktails are at 6 pm, buffet dinner at 7 pm and awards start at 8 pm. All night celebration and revelry will start afterwards (PS, hang around the winners to see if they are buying drinks.....) You are all invited to attend any and all of the events.
Just a small favor......all the major programs will be represented and please honor the fact that this is not a night to hash over a complaint with them or resolve a particular problem. Let's keep this an event that everyone can enjoy.....

I am pleased to respond that I will most likely be attending the Freddies -- a first for me!! I was scheduled to be in Japan that week, but it looks like the trip has been postponed until May.
I look forward to meeting Randy and all of my FT friends that night!!

FYI--- The rate at the HI where the Freddies will be held just went down by $20. If any of you have reservations, call and change it. It's a "Great Rates" rate, for $159. See ya there!!!

Here's a great site to hit before going to Priceline, if that is what anyone is thinking of using for a hotel room:
http://biddingfortravel.com/
The posts on the NYC Hotel forums show that a 4* room can be had for under a $100. And the Hotel List post shows the 4*s you are likely to get in the different Priceline designated zones:
FINANCIAL DISTRICT
Embassy Suites
SOHO - TRIBECA
60 Thompson
Tribeca Grand
MIDTOWN SOUTH
Morgans
MIDTOWN WEST
Intercontinental Central Park South
Warwick Hotel
LeParkerMeridien
Hilton and Towers
Marriott New York Marquis
Westin Essex House
Renaissance New York
Sheraton Hotel and Towers
Millennium Broadway
The Shoreham
The Mansfield
City Club Hotel
MIDTOWN EAST
W New York
Waldorf Astoria (managed by Hilton)
Intercontinental The Barclay New York
Drake Swissotel
Grand Hyatt New York
Millennium UN New York Plaza (formerly a Regal Hotel)
UPPER EAST SIDE
The Stanhope, A Park Hyatt

My Friends,
Due to a sudden meeting reschedule, I will be unable to attend the Freddies in person tonight. I am very disappointed that I will miss yet another opportunity to meet my fellow FT'ers.
Please have a drink for me, and I will see you next time.
