Bay Area Baseball
I had a nice little meeting with my upper level peers at work. Long story short, I don't have to go to ATW anymore.
So this gives me a ton of time in the Bay Area again. I get to put miles on my car and sleep in my own bed. And there's the added attraction of seeing baseball in the Bay.
Those of us in the Bay have 3 options: 1) the A's 2) the SF Giants or 3) the SJ Giants. Options 1 and 3 are the easiest to get seats for. Option 2 is pretty hard.
The part I like about option 1 is that on Wednesday nights at the Coliseum they offer $1 tickets and $1 hot dogs. A certain coworker of mine says that a game isn't good unless you get a hot dog stomach ache.
Option 3 is pretty cool because there's nothing like minor league ball.
I'm posting this to see if there was any FT interest in seeing any games in the Bay Area. I currently have tix to see the M's and the Yanks play the A's at the Coliseum. I love the Wednesday nite games because I can buy a block of 30 seats for 45 bucks and invite a ton of people from work and friends.
I wouldn't mind spending a night at the park with some FTers. I hear a certain weary traveler might want to come see some nautical team come to town one nite.
Just leave message if your interested in getting something started or if you're already headed to the park sometime. Instead of meeting at the lounge or the airport, we could meet up in some nice open air confines and share some peanuts and beer.
So here are my current plans that I don't have extra tix for, but I wouldn't mind meeting up for a beer between innings:
3/17 Mariners @ Athletics 7:05 pm
3/23 Yankees @ Athletics 7:05 pm
3/24 Yankees @ Athletics 7:05 pm
There will be more games. Hope to see some of you there.
Play ball!!!!!!

Oh yeah, I had to post this separately because it deserves it's own post.
I AM A NEW YORK YANKEE FAN!!!!
There are witnesses to the fact that I wear my Yankee cap everywhere. On the plane, at the airport, at work, at home, at the gym, driving my car.....
So when I'm watching an A's game wearing my Yankee cap, don't think I'm an A's fan. I'm just a Yankee fan far away from home trying to get his baseball fix.
There are several people out there who can attest to this.

I've always wanted to go to a dollar Wednesday game.
Too bad I'm not a Giants fan, since I live in walking distance to Pac Bell Park. Go Dodgers!

It's not usually too hard to get Giant's tix on sfgiants.com, their website acts as a secondary market for their season ticket holders who cannot use all their tix. You simply purchase the tickets on-line and then pick them up at will-call or if enought in advance they will mail them out. Some people post them at outrageous prices, but mostly you can get the tickets for 10-15% above face.

scalping Giants tix is especially legal IF you buy them from a seasonticket holder on the Giants website where season ticketholders are allowed to sell indiv game tix for any amount above face value they want ...

We are still planning on catching the Mariners in OAK, but we are looking at later weekend series--either July 26-28 or Sep 20-22. And, by the way the Mariners manhandled Anaheim this last week, this could be quite fun (for us)!

If there's a FT Giants game in the works, I strongly suggest it take place Saturday, August 24 (versus the MLB Expos). I'm planning a bunch of other summer ballpark runs right now, and 8/24 is one of the few weekends than haven't been taken by other teams yet.

There are people selling SF Giants tickets on eBay. A huge number of tix are in fact offered there; many by season ticket holders who sell off the seats that they aren't going to use.
Check feedback carefully!

OK, anybody want to see the Red Sox on Wednesday nite, 5/8 7:05pm at Oakland? I'm thinking about picking up a block of 30. It's another dollar night so tix with service charge is $1.50.
They would be nosebleed upper reserves, but dollar hot dogs aren't bad either. Trying to see if anyone would like to have fun at the Net.

M's will be in town June 3-7 during the week. Also will be in town September 13-15 which is a weekend series. I could meet up with you for the September weekend. Will probably do another dollar nite Wednesday for the June series.
