Age of FT's at events

I am just curious. I read so many posts on the board. I have not been able to attend a flyertalker event but I have always wondered what the average age range of participants is at these functions. Is everyone in the 30-45 range or are there younger and older folks as well. Just curious.

the youngest, I remember, was 'about' 12 (and he was just brilliant and very ff-knowleadgable and an airline elite member already) - some of the older ones (that includes me) are members of the AARP for quite a while already (and they, again me included, danced through whole nights in Dsseldorf and Seattle).

(AARP = American Association of Retired People).

one (much younger than me) FlyerTalker once 'challenged/questioned' my fitness on FlyerTalk-Board ... ; I made sure he left the Tennis court at the FlyerTalk 'Party in Paradise' in nov-99 with 'sour' legs ...

Trying to categorize Flyertalkers into an age group won't work, but I think in particular you'd be surprised how young many Flyertalkers are ... there are many younger than 30, that's for sure ...

Age is just a state of mind. On FlyerTalk, I feel that persons of all ages have provided valuable insight, contributions and are the reason for its continued success, among other things.

I'm a proud card carrying member of the AARP. Great discount partners, by the way. Minimum age requirement for that organization: 50 years young. Age does have its privileges.

Having just returned from my first FT "do", (ORD) I can attest to the great diversity of the group in all criteria, united (lowercase, please!) by our mutual desire to fly often, free, upgraded, cheap and all of those.
At least six decades of ages were represented; and as the other thread shows, a great time was had by all!

As a new AARP member, the discounts it offers rock!

I'm happy, OTOH, to see FTers with more life experience than me!

Plenty room for everyone here, methinks...

Having been to more get togethers now than I have fingers & toes - I have found the general rule to be that everyone is either older than me or younger than me - or they are all lying about their age.

I am old enough to know better, but still too young to care. Does that help?

=)
