Star Wars Episode II
For all of you who are traveling and are wondering, should I spend my evening seeing this movie... here is my opinion.
I saw Attack of the Clones today, in Seattle, and I loved it. But I think only those who really love Star Wars will love it. If you like the originals, then you will like this one. It is a great improvement over Episode I and would be a good movie if you are on the road and need some time to burn. Although this first week might be tough for tickets.
If you are in a particular city, try and see it with the digital projection. Today, I saw it at the Cinerama in Seattle with digital and the special effects were awesome. Here is a link with a list of possible theatres.

I hope everyone can get a chance to see this movie.

Saw it today too. I agree that's a great improvement over the first Episode, and certainly has more action, but as usual, not a lot of substance.
The visual effects were certainly up to par. And, some of the scenery was quite stunning; a few even breathtaking. However, the storyline was rather lame, and at times, I didn't really WHO the REAL enemy was!
Whoever wrote the dialogue for the script should be fired! Some of the things they say are just down-right, laugh-out-loud funny (and I don't think it was meant to be). "Your skin is so soft!" "I can't help myself!" "I've been dying a little everyday since I've saw you again."
Or, when Padme Amidela moans in pain in the sand dunes after being thrown off the ship....a Clone soldier rushes to her aid and asks if she is alright. She quickly jumps on her feet and acts as if nothing just happened, and start firing off commanding orders. I don't know if it's poor directing or poor acting, but the audience certainly got a chuckle.
I thought the story took place sometime in the future, or at the very least, "in a galaxy far, far away". So, why is Queen Amidela, while traveling as a refugee, carrying a present day Atlantic hardside? Talk about downsizing from her shipload of several trunks while fleeing her planet Naboo in Episode I.
Aside from 2 major chase/battle scenes the other fight scenes were merely okay. I actually thought the Doritos commercial was more exciting than the original scene in the movie. It probably would have been more realistic if they hired martial arts stuntmen to show off their supposed Jedi knight sabre skills. After all, Obi-Wan Kenobi isn't Spiderman.

Remember the opening graphic from the original Star Wars: "A long, long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..."?
The Star Wars saga takes place in the past, not the future. And the current trilogy takes place 2 generations (on average) earlier than the original one.
