IF Flyertalk held an Olympics, what would events be?

First off: FOUR PAWS UP to all the athletes froma ll over the world at Salt Lake.

Second: if the following thread is in the wrong place please MOVE IT. I don't mind

Now if Flyertalk held an Olympics, what would be some of the events.

I'll start: Mileage Runs, the marathon of all FF-ers: the most miles in the shortest time.

ok, who'd like to try (and PLEASE keep it clean! )

This is an easy one:

Who drinks the most

Who has the most hotel points

Who has the largest airline balance

Who gives out the best toys when flyertalkers get together

Dan

1. Lowest cost/status mile. Divide up by airline programs.
2. Lowest cost/FF mile earned. Divide up by airline programs.
3. Lowest cost to achieve status. Divide up by airline programs. Also subdivide by low/mid/upper elite.
4. Award medals for biggest giveaway on Coupon Connection.
5. Medal for hosting the best FT event. (may be more subjective than #1-#3)
6. Medals for everyone who have fun traveling & meeting other FTers!

Good work everyone!

And I'll add another: the four Flyertalker FREDDIE Relay.

The team who can earn Freddie the most miles wins the GOLD!

Here are my nominations for the track and field events:

- 50k sprint: fastest time to 50k actual miles.

- 100k sprint: fastest time to 100k actual miles.

- high-jump: most no. of flights in a 747 upper deck (in 1 month).

- endurance run: most no. of flights in an economy middle seat (in 1 month).

- hurdles: most no. of stopovers in a week (international stopovers with customs and immigration count double).

- javelin: longest total mileage without exiting an airport terminal.

- triple-jump: longest total mileage in exactly three flight sectors.

There certainly ought to be a "ORD K->H transfer" race in their somewhere.... I once did the end-to-end run in 15 minutes, fully loaded.

Kidpachinko _ I think the new standard at ORD is L - G staying on one carrier Although come to think of it K19 to G20 could be longer in actual distance.

It would travel in an F seat on a RTW on as many different carriers as possible, then be lit by Randy, of course!

That would be for AA folks. For UA flyers the race would be from F11 to C32. DL flyers would have to go from E32 to T8 in ATL without using the train.

..and to make F11 to C32 fair to all the UA flyers, we will have to turn off the moving walkway in the neon jungle, and load us all down with maximum-weight carry-ons. Now that would be one competition
