where will you spend New Years ??

I thought this would be a nice year end trivia/poll question. Also, bear in mind you need to know where your FT brethren will be at 11:59 pm on 12/31 so you can direct your toast in the right geographic direction....

I will be in Bali, Indonesia... any FTers going to be there.....????

This year I will be at work.
Gaucho I spent New Years Eve 1999/2000 in Jakarta with a bunch of stupid expats who were expecting the city (and the world for that matter) to erupt any minute.

Thankfully, my skepticism proved correct.

We will be celebrating in Savannah, Georgia at the midnight show of Lady Chablis from Midnight In The Garden Of Good And Evil.

And need to get up early on New Years Day to get to the Gator Bowl to watch the Hokies!

Eastwest-- I also spent the millenium scare period based in SE Asia, and yes, I too was amazed at the degree of fright that most all the expat community was suffering. Perhaps they were all out to justify their hardship pay...???

Here at home with my family in Tokyo listening to the 108 gongs going off at the temple in front of my house at midnight to cleanse my soul and prepare me for good fortune in 2002. (fingers crossed). First time in Japan for the holidays in 11 years so I am looking forward to it. I shall hoist four glassfuls of wine to the N,S,E, and W to salute all of you with whom I have shared chat, posts, and good times in 2001. I shall then repeat for the safe travels of all and to more good times to come in the new year. Okay, okay, any excuse to get legless but this one has more substance than most I hope.

Our family will be celebrating in the city by the Bay.

It'll be fun to be in San Francisco without a trade show or meetings to go to.

I have to say that I did have fun cashing in miles and points! (What a novel idea)

I'll be in Key West(free night at the Sheraton Suites). Next its some snorkeling or diving somewhere in the Florida keys on 1/1 then onward to Miami and the reason for the trip:

To see my TERPS shock Florida in the Orange Bowl! (Free night on 1/2 at the Maryland team hotel, the Fountainblue Hilton)
