Okay, so it looks like most of you are either or, with one specific request for the 13th. Let's go with that date.
It also looks like there are four or five of us who want to do this. Now, on a Thursday night, it may be too crowded to reasonably accomodate that at a place like Carpool in Arlington or Tommy Joes in Bethesda, especially since we haven't met each other before. Does anyone have any suggestions as to where to do this?
I will offer up for consideration the place I invested in, but it is only for your consideration. My place is located in Adams Morgan and I can assure you that it will be easy to find me there =)
But if you would prefer elsewhere, I won't be upset because I know what a pain it is to find parking there all too well.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make it to a Dec. 13th gettogether unless it runs late; I've got tickets to the Capitals/Bruins game that night.

As some one who lives in Adams Morgan I think it is great. But parking is a problem as for the metro you have to get off at either Dupont Circle or Woodly Park and if we are meeting on 18th it is a 10 minute walk from either.

I could possibly do the 13th except that I'd be coming from Baltimore with no car. That means I'll be tied to the MARC schedule and can't stay out too late. Will have to see how it works out...

Live in DC (the Hill), work in Foggy Bottom; both the 13th and 20th are good for me; i'd vote for someplace central to all that is metro accessible; tls

bringing this thread forward...
anyone been to Jaleo in either Bethesda or downtown DC? One of the finest restaurants in the area. Great sangria. I met Ling there when she was in town earlier this year.

Thur. the 13th works for me... I could do drinks but probably not a dinner (end of year cash crunch...).
mdtony - I may only speak for myself, but your establishment in Adams Morgan is cool with me... if I'm going to spend $$$ on a beer, it might as well go into a good pocket.

Okay, guys, here is what I propose. Let's do it at my place on Thursday, December 13 starting at 6:30 PM.
The bar is called Staccato and it's located at 2006 18th Street. The number there is 202-332-2228.
There are two reasons why I'm proposing this. First of all, I know that I can just stake out some space and have the folks tell you where to go. It will likely be upstairs, where the couches are, so that everyone can get comfortable.
Second, that night, we're doing a canned food drive to help out the homeless and hungry in the DC area. I forget what the official name of the organization is, but I believe it's the Greater DC Food Bank. We are requesting a donation of either two cans of food or $2 at the door.
That one was the clincher. I figure that we can meet up, have a few drinks and a good time, and help out the homeless as well!
Drop me a line by e-mail if you have any questions, and I look forward to seeing you on Thursday!
