Friends! Thank you so much for all of those well wishes and positive Cat vibes! I feel so energized with so much positive energy! Who needs pain pills!

As Gaucho and Larry U said, I suffered a strained muscle in my shoulder. It is NOT broken but I am in pain, not as much as the past few days.

Let me tell you how I DIDN”T get hurt:

*I did not fall down stinking drunk. I only had a beer and ONE black Russian with Gaucho. I was perfectly fine so he didn’t hurt me. I only fell down drunk ONCE (MileCrazy be quiet! ) and I did NOT get hurt
*I did not get beat up by my supervisor, a mugger or some crazy person.
*I did not hurt it doing something out of the ordinary.

You don’t have to read further. But the reason I got my shoulder hurt:

SANTA DID IT!

It started last weekend. I had to get stuff out of my spare closet that my neighbor, good friend and cat sitter Aggie stored in there. She is being forced out (long story I told some of you and will tell more later) so she needed to get stuff she put in my spare guest bedroom closet, including a very big sewing machine and this ceramic Santa Clause she got at some auction place years ago.

She can’t lift this stuff because of her pacemaker, so I went to get SANTA and I thought, “Oh, he can’t weight more than 15 pounds…”

That DANG SANTA weighted more than Kris Kringle himself! (Actually around 100 pounds)

Went to lift Kris Cringle, then felt a snap! It was in my left shoulder. I ignored it and went about getting the rest of her stuff (but I was cursing that I*Y&#W () Y Santa!)

I had some pain, but being a guy and hating doctors I ignored it. It got bad after lying on my side for a while. Mineral Ice and Tylenol kept the pain under control.

Then a few days later, the day after Gaucho’s dinner, went to the food pantry closet to get the 24 pack of PEPSI from the top shelf. Didn’t get a good grip on it (It weighs a lot) lost my grip and then on my left shoulder the Pain was more excruciating than a Flyertalker’s head after a night of partying.

I was in excruciating pain, and aggravated it by going to work to type for 8 hours. Went straight to the doctor and he said I strained my muscle and I needed to put it in an Ace bandage and take these pain pills.

Those pills worked. I took two at the office and felt no pain and loved everyone in the world!

I was in no condition to go out to dinner and be a babbling mess. Plus the other writer called out and work said, “We hope you don’t call out too!”

SO stoned I am lucky I made it home and crashed in bed.

These pills work. Too well.

Thankfully the doctor says as long as I don’t do athletic stuff or put too much stress on my shoulder and arm I should be up for partying in a week.

I’ll survive. Thank you everyone for being there for me.

It’s what I think is the essence of this board. We all can come together when someone is hurting.

Catman, it seems as if those two nurses, nursing you back to good health have been just a little too loquacious. Let's see, I believe one is Nurse Edith and isn't the other one Nurse Kate? You should have had them sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement before taking them on!

Well, I guess it just goes to show you that you can't have your Kate and Edith, too!

Seriously, glad you're doing better and lay off that athletic stuff for a while.

Feel better soon friend, and let's thank the lucky stars it was only a muscle strain. That snap in the shoulder frequently signals a torn rotator cuff and it's great that you dodged that bullet.
