Daisy does Düsseldorf

Earlier this week, I made plans to meet Punki, Joe and AnnaS at ORD and wish them bon voyage on their way to DUS. Punki had graciously agreed to carry something to Germany for me. She said if security asked if any strangers gave her anything to carry, she would simply say that I was no stranger than anyone else. Before I left home for ORD, I check the UA web site to check on Punki & Joe's arrival gate and the departure gate to DUS. The Seattle - ORD flight has left SEA over 30 minutes late. That was really going to wreck havoc with the 40 minute connection! On my drive to the airport I had visions of having Joe and Punki as overnight guests.

I met up with Anna at the RCC. She told me that UA had rerouted Punki & Joe to SFO to Paris and then a flight to DUS. Punki would not be at ORD. But Anna was there, in all her charm, for her first international flight. Punki had filled her in that I had a package. And there it was in a Marshall Field's (Chicago department store) bag: Daisy.

So you ask, who or what is Daisy. Well, the short story is that Daisy is an inflatable sheep, with an enhanced opening below her tail. I figured she was the perfect thing to send to a FT gathering!

The brief history of Daisy is that a friend gave it to me as a gag gift for standing up at her wedding. She often joked that she had found the perfect bridesmaid dress for me---one that looked like something Mary had a Little Lamb would wear. So she wanted be buy me a lamb. Many of us would have gone to a toy story. My friend went to a place called the Fetish Store.

We brought Daisy to the wedding reception. Daisy danced. The photographer offered to buy Daisy from us. Daisy is not for sale.

Daisy flew home with us in First Class. She sat right between our seats. The FA only looked, but never asked the story.

So tonight, I gave Daisy to AnnaS to bring to Germany. It is my hope that Daisy has a chance to see the world. And if you have the chance, please have her photo placed on FlyerTalk for all to see.

Daisy, so long!

Poor PremEx! He's got the badge for the weekend and no one to impress it with ...

<ducking> http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

PremEx Nov 10, 2000 12:28 am

Waddya mean? I got little Shebaa out a floatin' in the Jacuzzi right now!

I'll be right out, my little Lamb Chops!

geo1004 Nov 10, 2000 6:04 am

PremEx. I have two images.

The first is of you the first time we met in TPA. You were wearing a bathrobe and preparing to play ring toss with the fresh Krispy Kreme donuts ess, Cat, and I had procurred for you.

The second image is of Dr. Hannibal Lector in an orange prison suit awaiting a second order of lamb chops, rare.

It's scary how similar they are. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/eek.gif http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/eek.gif

Daisy, Run, run for your life!

Mommy...make the bad people go away. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

PremEx Nov 10, 2000 11:26 am

I prefer my Lamb Chops with a nice dry Chianti.

Comicwoman Nov 10, 2000 12:03 pm

And fava beans.

MisterNice Nov 10, 2000 1:26 pm

Question? Is this connected in any way with the pig thingee flying on US Air?

MisterNice

Comicwoman Nov 10, 2000 4:16 pm

MisterNice, you live up to your name. Daisy has nothing to do with the live pig that flew in first class recently. Daisy, is inflatable.

MisterNice Nov 10, 2000 7:41 pm

Comicwoman-

Thank you. I believe that was mentioned before. I will restate the question. Did Daisy fly in FC in (A) her "inflated mode" or (B) in her "deflated mode". And its good she had nothing to do with that crappy porker on US. Phew!

MisterNice

ps: and if the answer is (A), did Boyles* law enhance her inflated state?

* Volume is inversely proportional to pressure (or whatever)

Comicwoman Nov 10, 2000 8:39 pm

When Sparkie and I flew FLL to ORD, Daisy was inflated. I gave her to Anna in the same condition. Daisy seemed short a few pounds of air on the handoff, so I am sure she would survive any extra inflation.
I did not notice if Daisy put on any inches during our flight. She is very sensitive about her figure.

PremEx Nov 11, 2000 12:32 am

I did not notice if Daisy put on any inches during our flight.
Nope. Sorry folks. Not me. I ain't goin' there.

Catman Nov 11, 2000 2:07 am

Commander Catcop watching from afar says to my acting COP PremEx: Watch the sheep references!!!!

But you are doing a good job anyway. I'm mostly proud of you and leave the sheep for me! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Warrenlm Nov 11, 2000 4:23 am

AnnaS was the dinner last night at the Paulaner Wirthaus but I did not see Daisy with her! They will probably be together this afternoon at Bernie"s.

GK Nov 11, 2000 6:15 am

I have to say that dasiy has no stamina at the moment - she'd gone to pastures afresh when I got to the Paulaner last night ! Hope she's not done too much shopping this afternoon - as we have another long night ahead in the baas. sorry http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

bernie Nov 12, 2000 4:35 am

Daisy had a nice evening / night with us, but she didn't wanna walk from my place to the goose dinner but finally she got there b/c she was well taken care of.

Mizu Nov 12, 2000 4:41 am

Daisy was, indeed, well taken care of by both GK and auh2o - we've got proof! Wait for the pictures on the FT DUS website.... but for child protection reasons I may have to censor some of those...

spartacus Nov 12, 2000 11:45 am

So premex, is there anything else floating in the jacuzzi now?
(Posted from Bernie's computer)

PremEx Nov 12, 2000 12:37 pm

Spartacus, you must have been reading the papers. Acting Commander Catcop PremEx is sad to report that Shebaa was found floating dead in the jacuzzi the next morning. Victim of a mysterious puncture wound. I valiantly attempted mouth-to-valve resuscitation, to no avail. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif Beach Balls can be sent in lieu of flowers.

Thank the Maker that scientists at a certain factory in Taiwan, have learned to clone these babies by the container load!

BlondeBomber Nov 12, 2000 7:14 pm

While you may be able to do other things with vinyl sheep, ya cain't eat the goldarned thangs! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

PremEx Nov 12, 2000 8:38 pm

Sez who?

Catman Nov 13, 2000 6:31 pm

COmmander catcop here, and while I am not particularly fond of sheep, I think this post has disintegrated into something that IMHO offends myself (and my friend Catman too.)

Comicwoman: You are NOT repeat NOT part of my paw swats and hairballs. It was a nice personal story and I enjoyed it.

SO let's put this thread to bed before I cough up one more hairball.

Thank you.

Comicwoman Nov 13, 2000 6:42 pm

Thank you all for taking good care of Daisy. When in the world is she heading to next?

Catman: I had a good idea where this thread was going when I started it.

Punki Nov 13, 2000 8:20 pm

I am not having particularly serious problems with the thread.

Anyone who could endure the experience of walking through the streets of Dusseldorf with Kokonutz carrying Daisy strategically placed in the lead, can endure most any embarrassing experience life has to offer. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/redface.gif

Fortunately this happened about 6:11 p.m. Dusseldorf time--seven hours after the official opening of carnival. Most of the local residents were having way to much fun celebrating to pay attention to one more crazy American tourist and his date for the evening. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Scott the flier Nov 15, 2000 7:05 pm

I am very happy to report that the little lamb chop named Daisy is alive and inflated. She will be departing from Boston on Friday morning arriving in LAX on UA flight # 175 at 11:29 am, First Class of course. If Premex can rescue her then I'll see him there. If not she will be arriving via Fedex to his home next week sometime. She is so looking forward to getting back to the big bad wolf and going out to the jacuzzi for a dip. Of course it will cost him a beer or two when I'm down that way. Oh yea she say's that Kokonuts was baaaaad. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Cheers Scott

PremEx Nov 15, 2000 9:49 pm

Daisy...my little sheepskin liebschien! Come to Papa! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I shall, of course be there to greet her, and the honorable Scott the Procurer at LAX!

My dear Daisy, I just hope that KokoTongue didn't ruin your opinion of human kind. And just in case...I'll bring a Patch Kit.

Catman Nov 16, 2000 1:42 am

You are All UNDER ARREST by orders of his royal exellency, the Lion heart of Flyertalk, COmmander Catcop!!!

You will all be sent to FLorida to count ballots and figure out who won that election.

Daisy will be brought into custody and left to provide a nice new pillow for Eddie the cat to rest his head on.

Naughty Naughty! Now let's shear this thread and move on! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

RRAAOOOWWWLLL!!!

Commander Catcop I Nov 16, 2000 6:06 am

I have decided to join the Flyertalk community to keep this place focused on miles and less sexual inuendo.

THank you for welcoming me.

PremEx Nov 16, 2000 11:24 am

Commander CatCop I posts:

sexual inuendo
I don't know, CatCop. That sounds like something kinky in Latin to me.

tartetatin Nov 16, 2000 5:23 pm

PremEx, Wasn't Gene Wilder's sheep in the Woody Allen flick named Daisy? Hope we don't see you in the gutter, drinking Woolite.

Comicwoman Nov 16, 2000 7:31 pm

Tartetatin, that is exactly how Daisy got her name! She would be honored that you knew that.

Punki Nov 16, 2000 8:09 pm

What amazing memories this thread brings back!

Many years ago Joe and I were in downtown Seattle and decided to go to the movies one Sunday morning after Mass.

We ended up, almost all alone in the theater where we first met "Daisy" and Woody. We laughed so hard our sides hurt for days. I wonder how many of you weren't even old enough to see that movie at that time.

chexfan Nov 16, 2000 8:30 pm

violist Nov 16, 2000 10:01 pm

I dunno why people keep taking these sheep shots ...

PremEx Nov 16, 2000 11:34 pm

[rimshot]Ba da bum[/rimshot]

Well she wouldn't be the first movie star I had a "relationship" with. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Karen2 Nov 17, 2000 12:19 am

"relationsheep" as Arturo would say...

PremEx Nov 17, 2000 2:14 pm

Happy to report that Daisy has been presented to me (looking a little worse for wear after DUS) by Scott the flier here at LAX. Enjoyed a Sam Adams with Scott before he had to head out on his Shuttle flight, so now it's just Daisy and me here at the Red Carpet Club.

Star sighting of John Goodman. He looked jealous of my sheep.

Comicwoman Nov 17, 2000 3:10 pm

PremEx, I am so glad that Daisy is in good hands. She has flown more miles than me in the past month, and certainly has met more men than me too.

Commander Catcop I Nov 17, 2000 8:26 pm

Daisy! If you need me to rescue you from that man, please let me know. Catman can give me his UA miles and I'll save you.

Then Yaz and Eddie can care for you.

You poor thing. Although Scott the Flyer and that Sheep person do have good taste in beer.

MisterNice Nov 18, 2000 10:46 am

And now for those FT-ers who desire the real genuine article, but cannot presently afford the real time-proven wool-covered wonder, you can now ADOPT-A-SHEEP:
