FlyerTalkers in Atlanta?

Howdy, y'all...

Looks like I'm going to be posted in Atlanta for three weeks in April. My work schedule's pretty heavy by I ought to be able to escape at least one night for dinner. I'm working in the Perimeter Center area but will have a car.

Has there ever been a FlyerTalk meeting in Atlanta? No time like the present!

I'm game, but I have no idea what my schedule is gonna be like. There exists a possibility that I will be in Asia for most of April, which would KO any plans - but I am more than willing to set something up if I am in town.

Given enough advance notice, count me in. For a big city, Atlanta is my favorite.

I already am scheduled to be in ATL APR12-15.

Well, I'm going to be in town the weeks of 4/2, 4/16, and 4/23 (so far).

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night dinners are probably the best bet for me.

I'll be in the Atlanta area sometime during April and I should have an afternoon or evening available. I'll post again when I know more. Hopefully my schedule will fit into the existing plans and we can get together for a FlyerTalk meeting.

April in Atlanta is usually perfect! Lived there 14 years and typical April weather is sunny and highs in the mid 70's to even low 80's. Low humidity too!!

Just East of downtown my runnning club meets for Sunday soccer. I am thinking of comming one weekend in April, so I will in town on a Saturday & Sunday.

Perimeter area - Great lunch place is Sweet Tomatoes(soup&salad place, all-u-can(or care too) eat. They also have a pasta, pizza, muffin, and ice cream sunday bar.

Marriott Perimeter has a really good weekend breakfast($10,$5 each if you buy the w/e package). They have a buffet with made-to-order ommletts, have them fill it with the grilled chicken.

I can arrange to be in Atlanta in mid April, but I don't have a car, so any chance of a get together in the Buckhead/Midtown/Downtown area????

Thanks for the email belle. In April I will only be in Atlanta that weekend. If it doesn't work out then I'll catch the ATL contingent some other time; I'll be back later in the summer (when its Hotlanta, right? <grin> )

I'll have a car (and will be close to MARTA as well), so could meet in Buckhead or downtown just as easily.

Let's just figure out a date that works for people and a location. In my experience, the logistics always work themselves out.

mauld, it would be great to finally meet you after all this time!

I am definitely gonna be in Atlanta for the first week of April (but tentatively flying to India on the 7th for 3 weeks), so if we decide to go with anything before then I can offer my apartment as a meeting place for those unfamiliar with the city. Its smack in downtown and very convenient to MARTA (same block as North Avenue station), restaurants/bars and has free parking for visitors (as long as I inform the doorman in advance).

"Oh boy oh boy oh boy.... this is gonna be great!"

or, we could meet twice!

okay, the date Dgolds confirmed was April 24th, somewhere in Buckhead...
any suggestions on the restaurants?

and for those who are in town earlier, April 5th is fine with me too
(will be tentatively out of town April 6th till 19th)

Depending on how large the group is, Maggiano's could be good. It's family-style dinner for large groups -- the catch would be getting everyone to agree on a few appetizers, salads, entrees, desserts...

It's a fun atmosphere but may be a little loud....
