My First FT.Com Luggage Tag Encounter!

Talk about "doing it in style"! I had just gotten off my 3 1/2 hour delayed flight arriving traveling from HPN to MSP and was heading down to the lower level to find a hotel for the evening...and who is sitting right there typing away on his keyboard with his Flyer Talk luggage tags a-blazing?

Our very own...RANDY PETERSEN!!! We had a very nice chat and he seemed very excited to actually meet someone in person who had their own FT.Com tags prominently displayed. Randy is a teriffic guy and I'm glad I finally got the chance to meet him in person.

Hopefully, there will now be more FT luggage tag encounters in the near future. Keep you eyes open out there, gang!

Cool! I ordered mine last week, so I should be joining your ranks soon. Look for me on anything between ORD and ATL! I'm still waiting to see my first FT tag on someone else's brief case; but I'll be keeping my own eyes open as well. Congrats E -- it sounds like you got quite a treat! Don't you automatically move to FT Evangelist after talking with THE Evangelist?

What a neat thing to hear about! Hey Randy, did you ever consider mailing the tags out for free as part of a publicity expense/campaign? Imagine if everyone who registered here received one of those tags...they would soon be all over the place!

MileageAddict,

During our conversation, Rnady mentioned that they had already sold over 10,000 of those cool luggage tags...so there are PLENTY already out there. But, then again, who are we are frequent flyers and constant on lookers for the best "deals" to turn the other cheek when offered free FT gear?

ORD12,

Well I'm not an evangelist yet, so I guess your scheme did not work!

Hopefully someone will spot mine through PHL, CLT and SEA next weekend (8/18-20)!

This is amazing.. I was about to start a topic asking if there was a way to recognize FlyerTalkers- some sort of secret handshake or something, when I came across this thread!

[it all started when I read someone's post about a horribly delayed United flight on ORD->SFO that ended up getting in at four in the morning due to weather, equipment delay, two broken fuel gagues, and loading all the passengers onto another plane on the other side of O'Hare.. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum50/HTML/002623.html]

Rest assured that I'm going to get one of the luggage tags in short order, as I'm almost certain that I'm not the only one of us insane enough to try to do the ORD-SFO weekly commute!

And there are also those "special" OLD GOLD pre Randys issue FT luggage tags!

A bit subdued, and so very classy!

What a good idea.

I'll get some tags and pins. Anyone had any luck orderinbg these by email? And if so please lets have the staffer email who handles this. Now midday Sunday here, and me phoning during the hours they ask is not easy!

I ordered my tags and pins online about a month ago and I received the goods about a week later. I did encounter one minor problem, whereby my credit card expiration date was posted as LAST year but this was easily rectified via email. The person who handled all of this was Michelle.

Same thing happened to me when I ordered off the web site. A couple of e-mails fixed the problem, and look for my tags when you are flying on LH

Finally figgered out how to do it on line. We are still using quill pens down here in OZ!

Bag tags and pins on their way ... who knows, maybe BEAR96 from these boards will be a FA on a UA flight next trip!
