CO Express EMJ

Hello everyone,
New user here and loving it. I have a question or maybe concern here. I have a traveling job, and now my company seems to book me on CO express alot, I don't know how safe these jets are. They look real cool but I just don't know how safe it is against 737s or MD80s (Don't like MD80s that much)

If anyone can shed some light on this matter I would be very appreciated.

Thanks

The National Transportation Safety Board has extensive details about safety on their web site.

I just did a search on the ntsb website.

In the last 10 years there have been zero fatal accidents involving Embraer Jet aircraft. There have been 6 fatal incidents with Embraer aircraft, 5 on emb-120's a one involving an emb-110.
However, none in the last 3 1/2 years.

One of the incidents involved CO-Express, but that was almost 9 years ago. And CO is a very different company. If you want the details on this incident, check out http://www.ntsb.gov/Aviation/DCA/91A052.htm

Keep in mind, the incident is from Sept 1991.

All in all, it seems Embraer has an excellent safety record.

As a comparison, the extremely safe Boeing 737 has had 15 fatal incidents since 1/1/90.
Most outside of the US, in fact the last fatal incident in the US with a 737 was a US Air 737 in Sept 1994(almost 6 years ago).

Thank you Boomer for your info. I know about the crashes in India and Phillipines, I don't know how old those 737s are. Yes I agree that CO is a much different company, living in Houston CO is one of those companies that everyone wants to work for.

Thanks again
