I would be interested in where inmyauction's IP address traces back too.
I don't believe I or others are being unduly harsh on newbies...if their first 5 posts where questions/discussions about travel I would very positive. When the first posts can be construed as spam....well I'm just skeptical.

Hey folks, I know we have had some unscrupulous characters show up on the boards as of late, but let's not let them warp our minds.
I suggest we all try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and assume they are innocent until proven guilty. I have spoken privately with inmyauction and she seems to be a lovely lady. Hopefully she will not be driven off by our suspicious minds.
If we all try to put the best possible interpretation on every post, rather than the worst, this will be a lot better place. One of the reasons I most enjoy FT is because if affords me an opportunity to meet lots of different folks, with different backgrounds, from different cultures. Let's face it, if we are different, we are different, and we are going to have to be tolerant of those differences. God knows we cliquey old timers are about as diverse a bunch of folks as he ever created. That's what makes us special.
Chill out, drink good wine, and dance a lot.

Sorry, Doc, old friend. According to the date stamp on the left, you registered a full six months before I did and with nearly TEN times as many posts as me, well from my perspective that pretty much makes you a

Yup! Much as I hate to have to agree with a boy who wears a grass skirt and drops his top in public, it seems to me like doc's become a cliquey old timer as well.
Soon or later it happens to the best of 'em.

Punki,
I like to give the benefit of the doubt in life...even after being burned by doing it...BUT, after the last few weeks (could it be months????) I stand by my post above. If a newbie comes on and asks travel questions or posts useful information then great. If they post in multiple forums what could be construed as spam...well no time for that.

Dear Dorian:
Don't you think that your statement that you have "no time for that" kinda contradicts the fact that you have already taken the time to comment on this awkward post on three separate occasions? Just let it go!
Let's all relax and enjoy this great Board.
I agree with Punki - "If we all try to put the best possible interpretation on every post, rather than the worst, this will be a lot better place".

Doc:
Welcome to the Dark Side.
(Although I don't know if I'M a cliquey old timer, having never been to a get-together. But I've met some folks face-to-face. Does that count???)

no time to deal with A doesn't necessarily have anything to do with dealing with B.

Mr Koko (aka GrassSkirt/Matt Wald) & Punki - Thanks very much.
The emphasis, however, was on CLIQUEY!
I'll concede the old timer part, just NOT an old original like the BC (Before Crash) folks, who were here in the very beginning!
Dorian, IMHO, was not by any means disrespectful nor unkind, just profoundly skeptical!
BTW, Dorian- Star Wars Deluxe version Monopoly is one of my sons favorite - so I play it often too!
And coincidentally, I also went swimming - no beer though, just a bit of wine (2 glasses CA Chardonnay) with dinner!
Jon - "Dark side" ? Hmmm... and I'd though I was actually leaving the Dark Side! I think meeting face-to-face probably does count, but you'd also have to buy in to the exclusivity thing to be a real clique member - NOT likely! So you will likely never qualify, being the fine, temperate and open minded young man that you are!
Perhaps you, and I, and Dorian and other like minded FT egalitarians worldwide can all be relegated to a kind SUBclique status!
Nah! Just FT'ers is just fine!
Eugene - You too have a good point, in that letting it go seems like the best idea!
We could all be talking miles/points and other FF related issues right now. Much more interesting and fun IMHO!

Frankly, the new posters should be sent to FT school before being allowed to post. I can't wait to see what a FT party looks like.
