Positive Flyertalk Experiences
With all the negativity in recent weeks on some forums, I think it's time we all step back and think of the positives of this board. So I propose we list some of them here.
*They could be a great tip you got from someone (for me it's endless)
*Or a successful coupon exchange (One friend and I kept exchanging Healthy Choice certificates and both got miles we needed, another I just gave miles as a "thanks for helping out gift" and I had several fruitful coupon exchanges, getting even more -- from CO President's Club Pass to extra cat food coupons.
*Or making a new friend, or seeing a place you would not have seen with this new friend (I have been blessed with many friends whose names I won't mention for fear of hurting the feelings of the others.)
That's what I mean about positive experiences.
Anyone care to add??/

FT HAS ....
... made a difficult decision a lot easier.(giving up long-year-loyalty to UA's MP and switching to LH's M&M)
... given a lot of knowledge and tips on FF programs
... made me a lot more self conscious when talking, discussing, argueing with airline employees on rules, which I know from FT don't exist or are misinterpreted.
Thanks a lot yall.

How I've benefited:
It has been a most gratifying and rewarding journey, and I hope it continues!
[This message has been edited by flyme2 (edited 07-17-2000).]
- New friends, both cyber and real.
- Advice on earning more miles.
- Leads on seat sales.
- Far more FF knowledge than most airline employees.
- The general civility of the board.
- Being able to play a role in shaping the air and hotel programs.
It has been a most gratifying and rewarding journey, and I hope it continues!

Catman, like you, I wouldn't still be here if it weren't for all the positive experiences I've had here, and it is ALL because of the Flyertalkers I've met or look forward to meeting.
The latest example is logging on today, after possibly the worst travel day for me yesterday (trip report coming soon), and finding Catman back! I don't know of any other situation where a person I've never met can make my day.

FlyerTalk has enabled me to "speak the language" with a lot more ease. This is the one place where I know that I can get accurate advice from people that I know have been in the same situations that I am in (or trying to avoid
).
I feel like I know a lot more about the industry now than I did before FT, and I only hope that the knowledge that I have gained here, I can help pass on to other people.
Thank you very much. Everybody.

-Enable me to plan my vacation last year
-extremely valuable information on new promotions
-Being welcomed to the board after my first posting.
-Being able to "hang out" with people who share the same obsession, I meant interest, on points and miles!
That's what makes this board a part of my everyday life.

Welcome back Catman!
I think one of the positives for me is to get on the chat line and know you are welcome and have a common interest. The friendships we have made are a result of mutual respect and genuine caring of our fellow flyers.
I hope one day to be able to meet many of you personally.

Welcome back, friend.
How about sharing meals with FT friends (old and new) and airport meetings while away on those long and sometimes lonely business trips. Thanks, Anna, Catman, Scott, violist, QuantumLeap, BostonJudy, Baobab, Randy, PG, and many others who don't come to mind immediately.

Being lucky enough to meet some of the most interesting and fun friends. Learning all the tricks of the trade from the masters, and most of all meeting so many of you. Welcome home Cat-dude, I'll se you in Sept with a roll of duct tape and a Sam Adam's.
