Hope you can make it. I will just be getting out of my meetings at 6 PM but it is very close to where I am so I should be there by 6:10. I don't think we are going to wolf down our food so even if you come at 7 or 8, I hope to still be there--taking it easy.

Hey everybody! The dinner is set. If there is anyone else who is interested in coming (RichG: I think you told me in vegas that you were interested) YOU MUST RSVP BY TUESDAY AFTERNOON, 5P, 2-01!!!!

It's like we're having more than four people:

*Catman
*BlondeBomber
*Boomer
*RichG?
*DOC?

SO I'll adjust the reservation to six.

Looking forward to this!

Thanks Catman--see you tomorrow.

Posting this from the UN delegates lounge--maybe a FlyerTalker first? (a post from the UN!)

Planning to be there for sure and hopefully on time as well- can't have a FTer get together without at least 2 Marks in attendance, can you?

Smile

Thanks to the organizer/host, the ever so gracious and extraordinarily generous Catman, I think it's safe to say we all had an excellent dinner and a great time! Special thanks also to BB, who I'd had the pleasure of meeting for the first time, for coming to Manhattan an making the event possible. His broad smile puts the UBB smilies to shame! While Boomer and I lamented the nearly perennial absence of Porterhouse on Sparks menu, we truly enjoyed their Sirloin. As I remarked to BB, there's no better in the city, IMHO. Just a wonderful time!

Thumbs up

Thanks everyone for making me feel so welcome. Great discussions on everything from flying to politics and Canada eh! Flags for all and great food.

A special thanks to Catman for his feline generosity and putting on this event in my honor. I look forward to more visits to Nuevo York!

Thanks to Geo1004, I have discover another place of steak heaven: Sparks.

Here is the FIRST? of a new feature called "Dinertalk."

I arrived just about on time at 6pm and started to get worried that the other boys did not arrive for 10, 15 minutes. I knew that RichG had to cancel because of work. And I knew BlondeBomber would be delayed coming from his meetings.

Then a smiling Blondebomber showed up. I decided for us to sit down and wait for Boomer and Doc. We got to talk a bit about the PIP and Canada and B-B has a surprise: small Canadian flags! Doc then showed up and
then Boomer and we all posed with our Flags! What a great gesture Cliff (and your flag is now on the top shelf of my computer desk I call my own Flyertalk gallery!

We spent the next three hours enjoying beautiful FOUR PAWS UP Steaks, (I can't remember what you had Cliff, but it wasn't steak!) an excellent Chilean pino noir, Sam Adams (of course) and about three hours of talk about everything.

Later in the evening the manager of Sparks took me around to show what they could offer me as a contestant in the "Cat-Man-Do" restaurant contest. I promise a final decision is coming after Valentine's Day. But it will be MY choice and I hope you all like it!

It was good to meet and talk to you doc, always good to see you Boomer and I'm so glad to get to talk to you for more than 3 minutes BlondeBomber. You have a good heart and humour BB and I must get to calgery to see your world.(maybe for the Stampede?)

This is what flyertalk should really be about: fun times, food, laughs, the catman losing something (in this case his Ruth's Chris SteakLovers Club card... Maybe it's in the toher jacket!)

Is that on your first time in. If not, maybe your are just seeing your cached page. Reload/refresh and see if you can see it then. It is working now as Premex can see it.
