Well, that let's dgolds out as the party planner - and he did such a good job last time! Where to dinner is the main issue now - in SF or near the airport. The airport is not exactly a gourmet haven. I think the Mark does have Sunday Brunch because I think that was the first mistaken price quote we got last time when someone thought the Mark had a $30 some dollar charge. I can check it out. The Hilton also has an awesome brunch atop its hotel. Mind you, none of the SF brunches are cheap - so speak up attendees if you have alternatives. The most romantic brunch is at the Sheraton Palace in the Garden Court.

thank you karen2
(if that fails - I have been at a incredible, enorme, huge, sunday midday champagen-buffet at the SFO airport Hyatt a year ago - but that wouldn't provide the local touch/feeling of downtown San Francisco).
(can a cable car be rented as a private buffet car? I can in Zurich ...)

I'm checking on BBB. Will let you know soon. Do we have an estimate of number of people? I'm guessing between 12-18???

Punki: Absolutely! Twiz - short for theaterwiz - is not one to miss a show!
OK Rudi, 12 for sure.
How about we get a count going to make sure no one who wants to go is left out. Please let me know ASAP if you're in for Beach Blanket Babylon 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16.

I haven't been able to talk to my neighbor yet, but according to the ticket folks at Beach Blanket Babylon the 3 p.m. show on Jan. 16 is already sold out.
At the 7 p.m. show there are seats available for a group as large as 20 or so to sit together. Cocktail theater seating up front is $36; cocktail seating in the rear is $30 and center balcony is $33. All tickets have a $2 service charge.
The show is about 90 minutes long, so I don't know if the evening show would cut it too close for Rudi and Gisela.

aren't we (swiss) fast deciders: I guarantee for 12 EVENING (7PM) tickets - please letiole - thank you!
We (Gisela and I) don't have to be at the airport before 10:30PM (the flight leaves at 11:15PM and we will get the boarding passes already in the morning when leaving MEX - and the luggage will be checked through too).

We are in for the 7 PM show also - two tickets, please. I got an e-mail from the Top of the Mark. Their Sunday buffet brunch is $39 (!) without champagne or gratuity. Parking is $5 for 3 hours, only if garage has space. They want a credit card guarantee for a group. I am not willing to put that kind of money on my card since people's plans change. I agree with Rudi about the Hyatt. I have no idea what it costs now but the last time we were there it was great. Not out of the way for us but could be for others. With Beach Blanket at 7, we will want to eat an early dinner in the city. A heavy brunch will be a problem. Ideas for afternoon?

letiole (thank you) just informs me by email:
so - if you want to join please buy/fax individually and inform us here on Flyertalkboard. See you in San Francisco.

We need to pay for the tickets right
away using either a Visa or MasterCard. They won't hold them even for a couple of hours. They will accept orders by fax. The fax number is 415-421-4817. Would you be able to fax them your credit card number for the 12 tickets? For cocktail theater seating up front that would be $36 per ticket plus $2 each service charge.

If we book individually, will we all be assured of sitting together? Do we have some sort of party code?
I just recently discovered that I need to be in Washington D.C. on the Friday and Saturday just previous, but am scrambling to figure out a way to finish early enough on Saturday to fly back through SFO and meet you all. Even if I can't change my existing routing and have to fly DCA/SEA/SFO/SEA to do it.

I'll be skipping the show. I've seen it several times already and twice just recently, the second time being a bit painful to sit through. But I'm still going to try make it for the brunch, etc.

The seating is not pre-assigned, although sections are. The plan is to buy the cocktail theater seating, center front. $36 per ticket plus $2 service fee. To order by phone, it's 415-421-4222. If you want to go, I'd suggest ordering ASAP as they do sell out quickly.
The doors open an hour early for people to get their seats.
Just talked with my neighbor, she says to sit together we will all have to get there early. They don't have any reserved signs and they won't let a couple of people save spaces for the rest. But I suppose there are worse things than sitting in a lounge having cocktails for an hour before a show.
So who's in? Anyone buy their tickets?
