NYC 12/6 Anyone?

I'll be in NYC for one night, December 6th. Any FlyerTalk folks be around?

Also be at the RCC club at the terminal that UA shares with BA on the morning of the 7th. Have a 11 a.m. departure to NRT.

It looks like Catman and I will be getting together with you for dinner on the 6th.

Is anyone else in the area available?

Old Gold: Looking forward to meeting you and Catman . We'll try not to bore you with our feline pix .

Premex: Sorry we'll miss you on the 6th. BTW, did you repeat your luck with upgrades coming back from Asia?

Well I didn't get the unexpected double upgrade as on the outbound, but did get a comp into Business on the return making it 2 for 2! And really, those Business seats are fantastic! No First Suites on either 747-400 flights. Have fun with the Cat and OldGold!

I'll be in San Diego this weekend, returning the morning of the 7th. How about meeting on the 7th?

I will be in NYC DEC5-7, but will be staying in Queens with some cousins. It looks like dinner won't be a possibility in Manhattan on Monday night. Anyone around Sunday night for drinks? I'll be at JFK around noon on Tuesday for my 3pm flight home. I could meet anyone at any CRC or RCC or Admirals Club (AA only if you treat me as your guest), etc. between 1 and 2:30 or so.

My San Diego has been cancelled, so I'll be available on the 6th.

How does Italian Food sound? If so, I'd recommend Guido's 9th av and 37th street

The last I heard it was going to be dinner at Ruth's Chris in Wehawken, N.J., across the Hudson, at 6:00pm.

I think I can just make this. (I held back since I just got back from a trip and didn't know how busy I was going to be on Monday.)

Does anyone know how to get to Ruth's Chris by bus from the Port Authority? (I'm certainly not going to drive!)

OTOH, Boomer & I could just go to Guido's.

RichG, the following is from an e-mail from Catman to me, I suggest that you call them for travel information:

"Hi Guys! Here is the plan for Dec. 6th.

I will make reservations for about 6pm so none of us have to stay out
late (and I can get a few more hours sleep before work -- BLEH!)

Paul/Old Gold: To make it easy on you, I would suggest that you go
DIRECTLY to the Ruth's Chris Steakhouse in Weekhawken. They are located
at Lincoln Harbor, right on the waterfront, near the Lincoln Tunnel. The
exact address is 1000 Harbor Boulevard. Their number is: 201-863-5100."

I want to thanks Old Gold, Boomer, RichG and Danville 1K for coming out to the beautiful town of Weekhawken in rainy weather fo ra nice of fun, laughs, miles, points, frequent flyer travel talk and other things.

Getting there though was a bit of a challenge.

Danville 1K had problems at teh JFK Hilton (I will let you BOB explain what happened.) So he takes a sedan car and the driver gets lost. He calls to say he would never make our pre-arranged 5:15pm meeting at the WTC concource.

Rich G shows up early. Realizing that Boomer would be waiting outside the NJ transit waiting room at Hoboken, NJ, I tell Rich to go meet Boomer and for the both of them to go to Ruth's SO Old Gold doesn't think we stood him up.

Meantime, I waited for danville 1K, keeping posted via our cell phones. He shows up about 5;50p (traffic is horrible of course it's NYC) and I think he was stunned that I would wait for him. I told him I would wait as long as it takes for ANY FLYERTALKER... as they I am sure would wait for me.

So we take the PATH Train to Hoboken and cab it to Ruth's Chris. Along the way, I find out he's also a cat love (with the beautiful Maine COon Cinnamon who adopted him.)

Then we hit ruth's, and Old Gold, Boomer and RIchG are already busy swapping Frequent FLyer stories. SO we join in. great steak talk, desert... what mroe can we ask for.

You're a great guy, Danville 1k, and pleaes come back to NYC soon.

See, these Flyertalk gatherings are not so bad.

So thanks again fellas for another fine evening.
