Seattle Mini Get Together

Last night mweiss and I got together with my husband and son to welcome AusTXHiker to the beautiful City of Seattle.

I actually met Mark (AusTXHiker) at the unguent and potion counter at the Nordstrom flagship store, and RichG will be interested to note that there was nothing (other than a whole bunch of cute young girls) to occupy his time while he waited for me to buy my Honolulu make-up. Think PIP.

We then went up to my house where we met mweiss, Joe and Dominic for some very good Washington (YEAH!) wines and some of Joe's fabulous home-smoked salmon, and relived our memorable September, Seattle and San Francisco Get Togethers, courtesy of Kodak. We again were wowed by Rudi's costume, Catman's helmsman abilities, and Auh2O's ability to acquire liquid libations in native American establishments. Hmm, hmm, hmm. Unfortunately, I had forgotten the NYC pics at my office. (I am willing to sell the negatives for the right price. Maybe I would be better off trading? )

After wine and salmon appetizers, we walked over to the village and deliberated over restaurants. Within walking distance we have dozens. Thai, Italian, Indian, Sushi, etc., etc. We opted for Indian and I had my very favorite Saag Paneer (yum) and cucumber salad. After dinner we "Seattlized" and had designer coffee at Cafe Ladro which is supposed to be the best something or other in our Coffee City.

When we got back home, Dom and Mark played high-speed, on-line Quake, which Dom WON (Yeah Dom!) and mwiess and I listened to my daughter's weird alternative music tape for a while and talked about music and lyrics. Joe went to bed early, pretending to be tired, but I suspect he had taped Monday night football.

It was a pleasant, cozy, friendly evening with good friends that I hope we will see again and again. Thanks guys for being such excellent company.
