Nathan Detroit, RIP

I, a long time friend of Nathan's, do sadly report that he departed this vale of tears last evening and, barring a Lazarean or greater miracle, will no longer be among us. Some will mourn, some rejoice, perhaps, but let all remember that the bell that tolled for Nathan will someday toll for thee. As he was leaving, he asked me to post this final thought for everyone:

The men work quietly in their fields

as the women weep softly while cooking,

the legislature is in session, and no

man's property is safe.

A'dieu, auf weidersehen, dosvedanya, and may the lords of the frequent skies care tenderly for all of you.

Nathan's Long Timwe Friend

We'll miss Nathan. We all used to sing when he came on line....

"It's good old reliable Nathan, Nathan, Nathan, Nathan Detroit"

Now what shall we sing???

On the theme, how about, "Sit down, you're rockin the boat"?

"His name is Paul Revere..."

Hint to JeffS--think of of the original Nathan's occupation (on Broadway)

To Nathan's relatives: I hope this is just that he decided to leave Flyertalk and not the worst case schenerio (SP?) which I will nto say here.

If the latter is the case, I express my condolences.

"a bout de souffle"

(out of breath - or may be just 'enough is enough - I leave')
