IAD mini-FT get-together
Calling all hop heads!!
I will be breezing through Dulles on Sunday, Sept. 24, and would love to meet up with any of y'alls for a brew or two at Sam Adams, which is conveniently <snicker> located at the end of Concourse D. Provided that UA and the FAA cooperate, I should be arriving from ATL around 3ish. Hope to see a few of you there!

Matt Wald, I stand corrected. The 26th it is. Flight #1958 on UA. For someone getting half the amount of sleep that I am, you're way more on top of things!
PremEx: Your shipment of Pez is sitting right here on my desk . . . I feel like a total scumbag now. I'll walk it over to the postal monopoly this afternoon.

Essxjay, I can not even in my wildest imagination, ever think of you as a "scumbag!" Any woman who is as beautiful as you, loves Sam Adams, Pez, and Cuban cigars shall always be happily forgiven for one's little oversights, in my book.
Just don't ever let it happen again!

Turns out I will be at a fundraiser breakfast in NYC sunday morning, but will be in on UA7690 LGA-IAD at 13:44 (hurray for the east coast double mile bonus). That should give me plenty of time to take the people-mover from the A gates to the C or D gates to meet UA1958...so unless LGA bogs down, I'll still see you there!

Yes. Matt Wald, essxjay, Tribe-Flyer, and geo1004 all were present and photos were taken. And the best part was that big bag of Pez that Samantha brought along... we ate the whole thing! Speaking for myself (I've often been accussed of speaking for others...), it was a pleasure to meet my 2nd, 3rd, and 4th FT'ers (Catman was #1, of course). I'll leave the rest of the comments for essxjay, since she called this meeting together. And Samantha, two things: What was the title of the book you were reading, I need to go to to amazon.com and order, and second, did you get bumped from your PDX flight and get that free ticket??? Cheers,
Geo

'Twas a dark and stormy night...
OK, so it was a bright and hazy afternoon, but close enough for government work. I arrived at IAD on my United Express Canadair at 1:15 and went looking for a tv that was showing the Redskins game. Unfortunately, most tvs in the airport were tuned to some ridiculous thing with fat men swinging sticks at little balls...
Finally found the right crowd at the C-7 RCC. Went to get some cash when I noticed that Essexjay's plane had landed about 20 minutes early. So leaving a half-full Becks Dark behind, I trekked from C-7 to D-Airtran...about a seven mile walk, I think.
Anyway, I scan the bar and there, sitting in front of a book that looked to be about a foot thick was the lovely and (as I would soon discover) charming Essexjay.
We chatted about travel, life, jobs and mostly about the rest of you guys for about an hour when there appeared geo! And hard on his heels was Tribeflyer, all decked out in her Indian best! Unfortunately at that point my tall beer glass was empty and my wife was expecting me at 4:30, so after a quick photo session, I left the crew to their own devices and made my way back to the "Mobile Lounge."
It was a great time, and as I said to Essexjay, it's so nice to have folks to spend time with on loyovers and around the country. Nice to meet you, Essex, geo and tribe!!!!
