Well, maybe it is doc who needs the new specks-- my previous message was edited...
One other thing I forgot, Catman, dgolds, and myself were thinking about having lunch on the Spirit of Philly (Sat 28th), so if any one else is interested let me know, b/c I should make res for that too.
EMD-- let us know when you'll be back in town, maybe we can do something again (I'll be in Philly till the end of the year, then I'm scattered about for a couple months the begining of next year.)

EMD:
Not sure how long it has been since you have been to Ishkibibles, but IMHO it has gone way down hill in the last few months. It was sold about 4 months ago, and they replaced everyone. The chicken cheesesteak (their specialty) is no longer anything special.
I Have come to love Ricks "prince of steaks" in the Reading Terminal Market (next door to the Marriott Catman). He is the nephew of Pat of "Pat's" in South Philly who invented the cheesesteak all those years ago.

For those, if any, comming in from out of town, Starwood is offering double points for stays at all Philadelphia Properties till end of October, I believe. Could be end of year, my memory does not always work properly.
I wonder if this applies to dinning at the hotel restaraunts? The new Shereton Rittenhouse Square has a good looking new open air restaruant that looks out on the square. I have not tried it yet, so I can not comment on the quality, but the price is up there. Could be a nice way to combine the get together with a points opportunity.

According to Starwood's site, from 1 July to 6 September you can get double starpoints (on eligible rates) for staying at listed Philadelphia properties.

Also, if you are Marriot Black or higher, it is the last week in August that you can use the buy one w/e night and get one free cert's, as well as the various others including 1500 bonus points, and buy one meal and get one free. These would work at the Philadelphia Marriott by the Conv. Ctr., (or even PHL Airport), if you haven't yet booked a room there.

OK, I'll see those of you who are coming to Dock Street tomorrow night (the 23rd) at 7PM. I'll either be at the bar or by the enterance. I'll probably have a white shirt and silver tie on.
Blade -- I'll be emailing you about the res for Friday night.

OK -- for Friday the 27th, we'll be dining at Pomplona at 9PM, 12 & Locust Streets. No reservations have been made, because they only accept res for groups of 6 or more, and we have five....
Catman -- page me when you get into the Marriott, and I'll see if I can leave early to come up to center city.

Folks, my flight gets in at 8 PM Friday and I want to say thank you for having the dinner a little later so I can make it. I am looking forward to it a lot.
Does anyone know, are the flights from BOS MetroJet or just "regular" US Airways service?

Believe it or not, I acutally prefer the Delta commuter flights run by Business Express. I go to Boston about every 45 days, and like being able to get to the PHL 15 min before the flight and I am in a Cab at Logan 15 minutes after landing (no bags to claim). The small Saab planes are small (30 seats or so) but nice/comfortable with leather seats. More so than any other commuter plane.
They also seem to be much less prone to delay. At least in my experience.

Friday night was great! Burkey had everything arranged perfectly. Dinner at Pamplona's was excellent. dgolds was hung up in a weather delay in BOS and got in late, so we all walked to his hotel and had a second meeting while he ate. Its been a long time since I closed down a bar, but at 1:30 AM they started flashing the lights. It was memorable and I look forward to many more such meetings. The only disapointment was that Yaz and Eddie couldn't make it, but Catman was kind enough to bring their picture with him.
