I was just curious if we could have a Topic Section for Open Jobs. I know this is a travel bulletin board so don’t blast me on the idea.

We have a lot of talent on this site. It would be a shame (if not a crime) to have an open job in our companies and not tap the incredible talent pool right at our fingertips.

What are your thoughts?

What's wrong with doing so right on this forum? A brief announcement with an email address to contact for more info wouldn't be out of order. If it's a travel-related opening, all the better.

Some won't agree, I suppose.

There's always OMNI and if you can have jello and sheep there, I'm sure you can have employment opportunities for Flyer Talkers.

Haven't seen you around for a while! Welcome (back).

I think this is a good idea; some of us have posted here/elsewhere about jobs. For example, Tolarianwind recently changed job, Tim Chen features a job/networking forum at his UBB site, I have also recently switched job and contacted some fellow Flyertalkers for advice.

I certainly don't mind seeing informaiton like this being posted.

If the community thinks this a good idea, there's probably a few things we can do on our end to support it. First, I think we might move to accept www.flyertalk.com as a resident homepage for the community. One could link into the boards if they choose or click to other pages within that site. One could be a job board. I don't mind investing in some of the software engines that would support such a thing. As an aside, we're close to actually introducing free homepages and it might all work together. We thought people could establish their free homepages within anchors for their favorite frequent traveler program, like United Mileage Plus, rather than the traditional....gardening, etc. Anyway, this might all work as a community.

I will monitor this thread to see what the feeling on *the best idea ever* are before doing anything.

I think providing a forum for people to advertise (and, hopefully, sell) themselves would be a great idea - as long as the talents being marketed relate to flying.
