Now as NYC forecast for Friday is 90F, I’ll be missing the cold weather in Utqiagvik.
Here’s a big thank you to beckoa and jackal for organizing such interesting things to do and see. It seems things went off without a hitch.
And what can I say about my host at Château de Baron Welsh. Thank you for your hospitality, the accommodations, and for hosting a BBQ so well-attended by good friends.
Yes, we chipped in for the food, but what about the wine? What about that? How many bottles did we go through? (I don’t mean that rhetorically, I really wonder – how many bottles of wine were retrieved from the Château’s cellar and consumed?) It is greatly appreciated and I’ll do my best to find some way to help replenish.
I’ve finally uploaded my photos, these are web-ready low-res, but viewable. If anybody wants any of the photos removed from the album (“I look too fat” or “my hair is a mess” or “the FBI is looking for me”) just PM and I can edit.
https://goo.gl/photos/jv8h59GXuz4KQWYE6 There's a slideshow feature, click the three dots.
The album is open for comments or for others to upload photos if desired.

With 21 people at the BBQ and it lasting until well after midnight, I would think that everyone was Happy without getting too tipsy.
In any case, I would like to thank Uber and Lyft for coming to Alaska just a few days before the DO. I know they did it just for us, knowing we would be their top customers and my place is now in their GPS system (probably as a top destination).
As far as replacing what we drank, well, JM Cellars, Columbia Winery, Airfield Estates and others do an admirable job of doing that. It just shows up at my office.
Good Friends, Good Food, Good Wine....that is all I need to be happy.^^

Last night I spent some time taking bottles out of the boxes and refilling the empty slots in the Wall of Wine™. 14 spaces got filled. I know that there were some bottles that I did not have cataloged that we drank and there were a few bottles brought by others. So I would make a guess that around 20 bottles were opened that night. There was that one obligatory bottle of "white" but I don't really call that "Wine". No "Pinks" appeared.

Thanks to everyone that chipped in to making this the best Alaska DO that we've been to. OK, it's only our second but hopefully not our last.
