KUL DO 2016 Jan 15-17, 2016

So a little later than in the past for starting planning this DO.

The dates will be January 15-17.

This will be in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Singapore has been revisited many times.

The DO will be run by a former SIN DO planner and two other FTers. If you are interested in helping, PM me.

There will be a Post DO afterward. Location TBD but it will be via a non-stop destination from KUL do book your round trip to KUL and that portion will go from January 18-20.

Regarding hotels, it is best to book your hotel in the Golden Triangle or CBD area which is where the Petronas Towers are located. There is also the old city center area which is about a half hour away by taxi and will be inconvenient as most dining and events will be in the closest to the Golden Triangle area.

Itinerary

Friday
-Lunch at 1:45, Still working on reservations so check the thread.
-Drinks at 7:30. Beach Club Cafe, 97 Jalan P Ramlee, Kuala Lumpur
-Midnight, dinner around Bukit Bintang (Bukit Bintang). Probably easiest to provide an intersection and post what particular restaurant since it's a street of outdoor dining. I will be setting up a whatsapp thing for this on arrival in KL.

Saturday
Day trip to Klang, lunch at a place called "Pork Ribs Soup".
Dinner at 8:30, Hakka Restaurant
Post Dinner Party hosted by DO hosts. Location will be given at dinner.

Sunday Lunch
Indian Food: Restoran nagas, Brickfields Area
Sunday Dinner: Location TBD

I'm not 100% sure I can go since its no longer first come first serve for time off. But I have booked flights arriving KUL at noon on the 15th

Once again, count me in on this one. I agree that the move to KUL is a
refreshing idea. Heaps of good hotels that are far more reasonably
priced than Singapore.

Interested but it would be a stretch. Any plans for a Bangkok Do next few years?

overnight at the Conrad SIN before heading to KUL.

Put me down for it as well. Not sure if I would fly in or bus in, but has anyone ever attended a DO by a cross-border bus (instead of flying)?

Not internationally but I take bus to DO's all the time in the US

Just booked myself as far as HKG on UA895, 1/12. Will figure out the rest later, but I'll land at KUL sometime on 1/14. Looking forward to seeing everybody there.

Definitely interested. Glad I finally pulled the trigger and went to SIN earlier this year. I actually thought about booking a day or two in KUL but didn't have the time. This could work out real well for 2016.
